How much does the 2022 Audi A3 cost?

Is the 2022 Audi A3 a good car?

Generally — it earns a 4/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating, which points to a strong overall showing for a premium compact sedan. The A3 is described as a more polished entry-level Audi with a stylish design, added upscale features, and a fun-to-drive character, so it fits well if you want a small luxury sedan that feels more substantial than basic transportation. The trade-off is that prices rise quickly with trims and options, and the higher-performance S3 variant pushes the range higher. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Good and great deals account for 39.9% of listings, so you have a reasonable chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The A3 is presented as a familiar, proven package with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and a modern platform that supports smooth, controlled driving. Its performance setup is described as efficient and quick-shifting, and the cabin materials and layout are built with durability in mind. If you want added peace of mind, the available Quattro setup can help in winter climates and on slippery roads.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium compact sedan can become more expensive to own if you choose a higher trim or add options, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi A3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the drivetrain, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear, especially if the car has higher mileage or optional equipment. Pay close attention to how the car presents inside and out, since this model leans heavily on premium materials and technology.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Premium trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels, eight-way power front seats with four-way power lumbar, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, and lane departure warning. Premium Plus adds adaptive cruise control, memory for the driver's seat, wireless device charging, advanced key, and Active Lane Assist. Prestige brings matrix-design LED headlights, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel, a head-up display, and navigation.
• Powertrain: The A3 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, plus a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The S3 uses a 306 hp version of the same engine and is tuned for much quicker acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, lane-departure warning, electronic child locks, rear LATCH anchors, rear side airbags, and an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph. Available features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering.
• Infotainment: The center touchscreen measures 10.1 inches, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and wireless charging is available. The Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel is standard on Prestige and available on Premium Plus, while a head-up display is available on Premium Plus and Prestige.
• Fuel efficiency: The A3 is rated at 29 mpg city/38 mpg highway/32 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 28 mpg city/36 mpg highway/31 mpg combined with Quattro all-wheel drive. The S3 is rated at 23 mpg city/32 mpg highway/27 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A3 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, but it still gives you a strong equipment list with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, power front seats, and lane departure warning. It makes sense if you want the A3 experience at the lowest starting price.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds adaptive cruise control, memory for the driver's seat, wireless device charging, advanced key, and Active Lane Assist without jumping all the way to the top model.
• Prestige: Choose this if you want the most technology and luxury content, including the Virtual Cockpit, head-up display, navigation, matrix-design LED headlights, and the upgraded Bang & Olufsen audio system.

Standard safety equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning, while additional driver-assistance features are available on higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Audi A3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 398 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,566, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Audi A3's resale value?

The current average of $21,566 sits slightly below last year's $24,196.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If the market stays soft, resale value will depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad price momentum. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still draw attention, especially if they present cleanly and have a strong history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 safe?

The 2022 Audi A3 has not yet been rated for safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave it its top rating of "Good" in all crashworthiness tests and "Acceptable" in ease of use for LATCH connectors.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, lane-departure warning, electronic child locks, rear LATCH anchors, rear side airbags, and an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph. Available driver-assistance features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model year brings a new-generation A3 with a more polished feel, added upscale features, and a broad spread of versions, including the higher-performance S3.

The bottom line: The 2022 A3 makes the most sense if you want the newer-generation car with strong tech, a premium cabin, and a market that currently favors buyers more than sellers. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can still shop aggressively for a clean, well-equipped example and focus on listings near the lower end of the range.
