What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura RDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean. It also makes sense to focus on overall interior condition and rear-seat comfort, because those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the base model plus Technology, A-Spec, Advance, A-Spec Advance, and the limited-production PMC Edition. The base model is the most stripped-down choice, while higher packages add more equipment and a quieter, more refined feel.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on the base, Technology, and A-Spec packages, while SH-AWD is standard on Advance and A-Spec Advance and available on some lower packages.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. With the Technology package and higher, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 10.2-inch display with a touchpad controller, plus wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Amazon Alexa Built-in, and a wireless charging pad. Starting with the Technology package, you also get navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert evaluation notes an EPA fuel economy rating of 23 mpg, and the test vehicle averaged 20.6 mpg on the evaluation loop.

Which 2022 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura RDX is offered in 5 trim levels: base model, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, and A-Spec Advance.

Here's the short version:

• base model: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core RDX experience with the turbocharged engine, standard AcuraWatch safety tech, and the basic infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup and can live without the extra comfort and convenience features.
• Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation and a stronger audio system while keeping the RDX’s core strengths intact. If you want a more complete luxury-SUV experience without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the trim to target.
• A-Spec: This trim leans more into style and a sportier presentation, while still keeping the same underlying powertrain. It suits you if appearance matters and you want a more distinctive look.
• Advance: This is the comfort-focused choice, with the adaptive-damping suspension and SH-AWD standard. It’s the trim to consider if you want the most polished ride and a more premium feel.
• A-Spec Advance: This combines the sportier look of A-Spec with the comfort and equipment of Advance, making it the most fully loaded mainstream choice. It’s the right pick if you want the richest feature set and don’t mind paying for it.

With Technology and higher, the RDX adds front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,800 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,992, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $30,992 sits slightly below last year's $33,049.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays soft. If you buy well now, you may be starting from a more favorable basis than someone who bought when prices were higher. Strong demand for a well-liked luxury SUV can still help support resale, especially when the vehicle has broad appeal and a good reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

One caveat is that the IIHS had not yet published ratings for this model year in the provided data.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds quieter refinement and updated styling.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,148, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $30,992 average.
• It offers a more modern feel with Acura’s newer design direction.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $34,554, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $30,992 average.
• It emphasizes comfort, performance, and value with broad everyday appeal.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2022 if you want the best balance of updated refinement, strong owner satisfaction, and a softer used-market price. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the value play; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling alternative, the 2023 is the step up.
