Used 2021 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearColumbus, OH

How much does the 2021 Volvo XC60 cost?

Prices have softened 13.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 759 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Volvo XC60 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Volvo XC60 earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious comfort, great safety features, and intuitive technology. The XC60 also comes across as smooth and visually appealing, which fits its upscale, everyday-friendly mission.

The main trade-offs are an unimpressive electric range and a harsher ride on larger wheels. Even so, the XC60 makes sense if you want a premium midsize crossover that balances style, comfort, and usability.

Good and great deals account for 33.7% of listings, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Volvo XC60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with repeated praise for comfort, safety, and technology that owners can count on. The expert evaluation also describes the XC60 as solid and secure on the road, with a cabin that stays serenely quiet and a suspension that smooths out bumps.

Volvo also emphasizes smart ownership support, including maintenance reminders through its connected app. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure any example you consider has been cared for properly, since premium features and hybrid hardware can be costly if neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a proper inspection. Focus on the condition of the wheels and tires, the ride quality, and whether the cabin technology works as expected. If you want the hybrid versions, pay extra attention to how the powertrain behaves in normal driving and whether the vehicle has been maintained on schedule.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base T5 FWD Momentum gives you the core XC60 experience, while higher trims add more luxury equipment and visual polish. The content also notes that top trims can wear larger 21-inch wheels, which may look great but can contribute to a harsher ride.
• Powertrain: The XC60 uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an eight-speed automatic. T5 models make 250 horsepower, T6 models make 316 hp, and T8 models add an electric motor for 400 hp combined, with the T8 Polestar Engineered tuned to 415 hp combined.
• Safety package: Volvo’s standard safety suite includes blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping aid, run-off road protection, run-off road mitigation, and more. Pilot Assist is available, but it is not standard.
• Infotainment: The XC60 uses a 9-inch portrait-style Sensus touchscreen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a WiFi hotspot are built in, but the system has a learning curve and some owners wish for wireless CarPlay.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA figures range from 22 mpg city/29 mpg highway/25 mpg combined for the T5 FWD to 27 mpg combined for the T8 PHEV and 57 MPGe combined in electric-only mode.

Which 2021 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Volvo XC60 is offered in 8 trim levels: T5 FWD Momentum, T5 AWD Momentum, T5 AWD R-Design, T5 AWD Inscription, T6 AWD Momentum, T6 AWD R-Design, T6 AWD Inscription, T8 eAWD Inscription, T8 eAWD R-Design, T8 eAWD Polestar Engineered.

Here's the short version:

• T5 FWD Momentum: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the XC60’s core luxury, safety, and style without paying for extra power or premium trim upgrades.
• T5 AWD Momentum: Choose this if you want the same basic equipment as the base model but prefer all-wheel drive for added traction.
• T5 AWD R-Design: This trim adds a sportier look and feel, making it a better fit if you care more about appearance and driving character than maximum value.
• T5 AWD Inscription: This is the more upscale T5 choice if you want a richer luxury presentation and are willing to pay more for it.
• T6 AWD Momentum: This is the step-up powertrain choice if you want more performance than the T5 without moving all the way to the plug-in hybrid models.
• T6 AWD R-Design: Pick this if you want stronger acceleration plus a sportier trim personality.
• T6 AWD Inscription: This is the more comfort- and luxury-focused T6 option.
• T8 eAWD Inscription: This plug-in hybrid trim suits you if you want the strongest efficiency story and electric driving capability along with luxury equipment.
• T8 eAWD R-Design: This is the sportier plug-in hybrid choice.
• T8 eAWD Polestar Engineered: This is the performance flagship, with the highest output in the lineup and the most distinctive character.

Volvo’s standard safety equipment is extensive across the lineup, while Pilot Assist remains available rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile deals.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 759 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,697, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $23,697 sits slightly below last year's $27,282.

That decline suggests the XC60 has become more affordable for buyers, which can help you enter the market at a better price. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level rather than assuming the market will rebound quickly.

Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than neglected ones. Strong pricing today can also help support demand from shoppers who want a premium SUV without paying new-car money.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2021 Volvo XC60 was awarded a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and the XC60 T5/T5 AWD and XC60 T6 AWD received five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Volvo equips the XC60 with a long list of standard safety features, including LED headlights, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, collision avoidance, low- and high-speed collision mitigation, vehicle/cyclist/large animal detection, driver alert control, run-off road protection, run-off road mitigation, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping aid, oncoming mitigation, front, side, and curtain airbags with a driver-side knee airbag, whiplash protection, slippery road/hazard light alert, rear park assist camera, power child locks, and care key.

Pilot Assist is available if you want a hands-on semi-autonomous driving aid that combines adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist. The main caveat is that this system is available rather than standard, so you should confirm whether a used example has it if that matters to you.

Should I buy a 2021 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 XC60 stands out for luxury-level appointments, cool Scandinavian style, exceptional safety features, and a lusty powertrain.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,014, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $23,697 average.
• It adds new mild-hybrid powertrains and an Android-based infotainment system.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better buy if you want the strongest value and a broad used-market selection. If you are willing to spend more for newer tech and updated powertrains, the 2022 is the better alternative. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2021 remains the smarter path.
