It gives you a premium-feeling cabin with a panoramic moonroof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen, while the seats and interior materials help it feel more upscale than its size suggests. The 2021 Volvo S60’s safety story is a major part of its appeal, with standard City Safety collision avoidance and IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition for the third generation in 2021 and 2022. For used buyers, that combination of strong safety equipment and a comfort-focused design suggests a car that should age well if it has been maintained properly. Long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking service history carefully and confirming that the car’s safety and convenience features are working as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks the car’s electronics, safety systems, and interior condition. Because the S60’s appeal is tied closely to its comfort and technology, pay extra attention to seat wear, touchscreen operation, and any warning lights or feature malfunctions. A clean, well-kept example is the kind of used S60 that best preserves the model’s premium feel.
