Is the 2021 Volvo S60 a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2021 Volvo S60. The overview points to a compact luxury sedan that leans into safety, comfort, and Scandinavian design, with a cabin that feels more upscale than its size might suggest. You also get a strong standard equipment story, including a panoramic moonroof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen, which makes it especially appealing if you want a well-equipped luxury sedan with a calm, premium feel. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Volvo S60 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview emphasizes Volvo’s safety-first engineering, standard City Safety collision avoidance, and a strong safety reputation that includes IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition for the third generation in 2021 and 2022. It also highlights a thoughtfully designed cabin and standard equipment that suggests a well-developed package rather than a bare-bones luxury sedan.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the car has been maintained properly and that any safety or technology features are functioning as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks the car’s electronics, safety systems, and interior condition. Because this model leans heavily on comfort and technology, pay close attention to how the touchscreen, digital cluster, cameras, and driver-assist features operate in real-world use. Also inspect the seats, cabin materials, and overall wear carefully, since those are major parts of the S60’s appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Volvo S60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 251 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.84% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,998, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $21,573 sits slightly below last year's $23,157.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more efficiently now but may also mean future resale gains are limited unless demand strengthens. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing gives you a realistic baseline for what the car is worth today rather than what it may have commanded in a hotter market. Strong equipment, safety reputation, and a premium cabin can help support interest from used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better pick if you want a well-equipped, safety-focused luxury sedan with a strong value story and a solid pool of clean listings. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2021 stands out as a balanced choice when you want comfort, safety, and a favorable market position in one package.
