How much does the 2021 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,030 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.91/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its electric nature, advanced technology, and fun driving dynamics, and many also highlight its eco-friendliness and performance. That lines up well with the model’s use case if you want a compact luxury crossover with roomy packaging, a rear hatch, a front trunk, and standard all-wheel drive. With 27.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with owners describing the vehicle as enjoyable over time and appreciating its trouble-free feel in daily use. The strongest reliability takeaway for used buyers is that long-term ownership risk looks more manageable when you focus on well-documented examples with clean history and consistent maintenance records.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then confirm the car’s condition with a careful inspection. Pay close attention to signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any issues that could affect the vehicle’s overall condition or long-term ownership experience. Because this model leans heavily on technology, it also makes sense to test the touchscreen, controls, and everyday usability before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,030 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,719, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $26,651 sits slightly below last year's $26,780.

That small decline suggests the market has been relatively stable rather than sharply weakening. For a future seller, that kind of price movement can be reassuring because it points to predictable demand instead of a sudden drop in value. The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support buyer interest when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the right pick if you want a well-liked Model Y with stable pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a healthy pool of listings to compare. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to keep an eye on nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and deal quality.
