There are 1,260 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2021 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners repeatedly praise the smooth and quiet ride, good value, and decent towing capability, and many also like its handling and usefulness for outdoor activities. For you, that makes it a practical midsize pickup if you want a truck that balances everyday drivability with real utility. With 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a reliable, dependable truck that many owners feel comfortable counting on for regular use. That said, some drivers mention transmission behavior as a concern, so you should pay close attention to how the truck shifts during a test drive. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the drivetrain feels consistent and well maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Nissan Frontier?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm the truck’s background and look for any prior damage or title issues. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission behavior, since some owners have reported shifting concerns. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you plan to use the truck for towing or regular work.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Nissan Frontier?

This is a selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,260 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,456, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $22,399 sits slightly below last year's $23,034.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has become a bit more accessible for buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, the current market shows that value is holding reasonably well, but not appreciating. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in strong condition, you should be in a better position when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $21,127, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $22,399 average.
• It offers a simple, rugged pickup with a newly updated powertrain.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,640, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $22,399 average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin with more modern comfort and technology.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around path if you want a strong mix of value, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 is the price-sensitive alternative, while the 2022 makes sense if you want the newer redesign and can stretch for it.
