Used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA for Sale nearMilwaukee, WI

How much does the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA cost?

Prices have softened 11.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 616 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The GLA’s appeal is strongest if you want a compact luxury SUV that is easy to maneuver, offers multiple powertrain options, and brings impressive technology. It also feels more substantial than its size might suggest, especially after its redesign for this model year.

The trade-offs are clear: the ride quality is weak, handling is weak, and cargo space is limited. Those compromises matter most if you want a small SUV that feels especially polished or practical.

With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 GLA’s redesign gives it a more modern foundation, and the expert evaluation points to a compact SUV that covers the basics well while offering strong technology and multiple powertrain choices. Its turbocharged setup is described as powerful, but the powertrain can feel unrefined in daily driving, especially off the line.

The model’s tech-forward character helps it feel current, and the available maintenance perk language is not part of the data here. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the GLA’s weak ride quality, handling, and limited cargo space may become more noticeable over time than its strengths.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any listing you’re considering, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the car has been in any collision or shows signs of uneven wear. Focus on overall condition, because this model’s ride quality, cabin noise, and interior materials are all areas where a used example can feel less premium than you might expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLA’s entry-level positioning in Mercedes’ SUV lineup means the base setup is more about compact luxury basics than full premium polish. Standard LED headlights help, but the interior materials can feel less premium than you’d expect, and the available adaptive LED headlights are part of a package.
• Powertrain: The GLA 250 and GLA 250 4MATIC use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the model line also includes the AMG GLA 35 and the AMG GLA 45. The standard turbo-four is efficient for the class, while the AMG versions add much more power.
• Safety package: Every GLA includes a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, vehicle-exit warning, automatic emergency braking, driver-drowsiness monitoring, crosswind assist, and traditional cruise control. To get nearly all the most desirable active safety tech, you need the Driver Assistance Package, which adds adaptive cruise control, active lane-keeping assist, active blind-spot assist, traffic-jam assist, evasive steering assist, route-based speed adjustment, and more. The Parking Assistance Package adds a surround-view camera system and parking assist.
• Infotainment: Standard MBUX includes two 7.0-inch display screens, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, four USB ports, and touch and touchpad control. Available upgrades include a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless device charging, navigation, a WiFi hot spot, head-up display, and a 12-speaker Burmester audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo-four gets an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg combined. The 4MATIC version does one mpg worse in each category.

Which 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA is offered in 4 trim levels: GLA 250, GLA 250 4MATIC, AMG GLA 35, AMG GLA 45.

Here's the short version:

• GLA 250: This is the best-value starting point if you want the core GLA experience without paying for AWD or AMG performance. You still get the redesigned body, standard MBUX infotainment, and the model’s strong tech story, but you’ll want to pay close attention to the available safety packages if you want a fuller driver-assistance suite.
• GLA 250 4MATIC: Choose this if you want the same basic setup as the GLA 250 but with all-wheel drive and the added traction that comes with it. It suits you best if you live where weather or road conditions make AWD worth the extra cost.
• AMG GLA 35: This is the performance step-up, with much more power and AMG-specific hardware and drive modes. It’s the right pick if you want the GLA’s compact footprint but care more about speed and sportier character than comfort or value.
• AMG GLA 45: This is the most extreme version, with the highest output and the most track-capable hardware in the lineup. It makes sense if you want the quickest, most serious performance model and are willing to pay for it.

For safety, the Driver Assistance Package is the key upgrade if you want nearly all of the most desirable active safety technology.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 616 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,489, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA's resale value?

The current average of $22,489 sits slightly below last year's $25,400.

That price movement suggests the GLA has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the current average or below it, you may have less downside left than a shopper who bought when prices were higher.

The model’s strong technology and broad appeal as a compact luxury SUV should help keep it relevant with used buyers. Still, resale will depend on condition, mileage, and whether the car has the safety and convenience equipment shoppers want.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA safe?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Mercedes gives every GLA a reasonable amount of active safety features, including a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, vehicle-exit warning, automatic emergency braking, driver-drowsiness monitoring, crosswind assist, and traditional cruise control.

If you want nearly all of the most desirable active safety technology, you need the Driver Assistance Package. It adds automatic braking for stationary vehicles, traffic-jam assist, active emergency brake assist, active lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, active speed limit assist, route-based speed adjustment, evasive steering assist, active lane-keeping assist, active blind-spot assist, active brake assist with cross-traffic intervention, and a rear-collision sensing system. The Parking Assistance Package adds a surround-view camera system and parallel and perpendicular parking assist.

As tested without the Driver Assistance Package, the GLA 250 felt chintzy, and that’s worth keeping in mind if safety equipment matters to you. You can get a stronger list of standard and available safety features on less expensive SUVs.

Should I buy a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model year brings a complete redesign that makes the GLA more SUV-like, more modern, and easier to live with than the previous generation.

The bottom line: The 2021 GLA is the better path if you want the redesigned body, stronger tech, and a more conventional small-SUV feel. If your priority is simply the lowest purchase price, a nearby older year may be worth a look, but you’ll give up the newer design and some of the model’s improved everyday appeal.
