Used 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 for Sale nearNashville, TN

How much does the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 183 listings available, which suggests a fairly limited pool of used examples to shop from.

Is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

It is aimed at you if you care more about the driving experience than the latest gadgetry, and the overview makes that clear: this is a stylish, high-quality family sedan with a rewarding steering feel and a premium cabin. The trade-off is that the technology is dated and all-wheel drive is not available, so the car’s appeal is strongest if you value refinement and engagement over modern convenience features.

The main compromises are the lack of AWD and the outdated infotainment setup, which may matter if you want all-weather traction or the newest interface tech. Even so, 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Mazda6 is presented as a well-built, thoughtfully equipped sedan that emphasizes quality and enjoyable driving dynamics. Its expert coverage also points to smooth, accurate, and predictable active safety behavior, which supports confidence in day-to-day use.

The performance content notes a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, a six-speed automatic, and a driving setup that feels natural and composed. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright mechanical drama and more about whether the car’s older technology and age-related wear match your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mazda MAZDA6?

At 62.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with cosmetic wear. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and evidence of prior repair quality, since accident history can matter even when a car looks clean at first glance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport and Touring use a 186-horsepower Skyactiv 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, while the higher trims move to a turbocharged 250-hp version. The base setup is simpler, while the upper trims add more premium equipment and a more upscale feel.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. On 93-octane fuel it makes 250 hp and 320 pound-feet of torque, while regular fuel drops output to 227 hp and 310 lb-ft; the EPA says the turbo model gets 26 mpg in combined driving.
• Safety package: Every 2021 Mazda6 includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Grand Touring Reserve adds adaptive headlights, a wiper de-icer system, and an Active Driving Display, while Signature adds driver-attention alert, traffic-sign recognition, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: The Mazda6 uses an 8-inch screen and includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Radio, internet radio, text-messaging support, and E911 automatic emergency notification. Grand Touring and higher add wireless Apple CarPlay, while Android Auto remains wired; Signature adds embedded navigation and three years of SiriusXM Travel Link services.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged model is rated at 26 mpg in combined driving, and testing returned 26.1 mpg.

Which 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, Carbon Edition, and Signature.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Mazda6 experience with the 186-horsepower engine and the full standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the car’s style and driving feel.
• Touring: This trim keeps the same base powertrain but adds a more upscale equipment mix than Sport, making it a better fit if you want a more polished daily driver without jumping to the turbo engine.
• Grand Touring: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks the turbocharged engine and adds wireless Apple CarPlay, an 11-speaker Bose premium audio system, and three free months of SiriusXM satellite radio.
• Grand Touring Reserve: This trim builds on Grand Touring with adaptive headlights, a wiper de-icer system, and an Active Driving Display, so it suits you if you want more convenience and visibility features.
• Carbon Edition: Based on Grand Touring Reserve, this trim adds Polymetal Gray paint, red leather with contrast stitching, and black metallic wheels, making it the style-forward choice.
• Signature: This is the luxury-leaning version, with premium Nappa leather, genuine Sen wood trim, LED interior lighting, an embedded navigation system, and the most complete safety-tech package.

The safety package starts with i-Activesense on every trim, while the upper trims add more advanced features as you move up the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mazda MAZDA6?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 183 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,719, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6's resale value?

The current average of $20,339 sits slightly above last year's $20,147.

That small increase suggests the Mazda6 has held its value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of stability can be helpful because it points to a market that is still willing to pay for the car’s style and driving appeal.

The limited inventory also supports resale confidence, since fewer examples on the market can help keep demand focused on clean, well-kept cars. If you maintain the car well and keep records, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 safe?

The 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 earns the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating and five-star ratings from NHTSA in nearly every assessment.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s i-Activesense suite is standard on every trim and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Higher trims add adaptive headlights, a wiper de-icer system, an Active Driving Display, driver-attention alert, traffic-sign recognition, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and front and rear parking sensors.

One caveat is that the system does not include a lane-centering function, which some competitors offer. Even so, the overall safety package is broad and well-rounded for a used midsize sedan.

Should I buy a 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 stands out for its stylish design, premium interior materials, and fun-to-drive character.

The bottom line: If you want the Mazda6 at its most polished and engaging, the 2021 is a strong choice because it combines steady pricing, solid safety, and a distinctive driving feel. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can keep shopping for the cleanest, best-documented example rather than rushing, since the market is stable enough to reward patience.
