Used 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 for Sale nearDayton, OH

How much does the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 cost?

Prices have softened 4.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 186 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

It stands out because it puts driving enjoyment ahead of the usual family-sedan formula, while still delivering a stylish, high-quality cabin. You also get a car that feels distinctive rather than ordinary, with premium interior materials and a fun-to-drive character that makes it especially appealing if you value engagement behind the wheel.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available and the technology is outdated. That makes it a strong fit if you want a polished midsize sedan with personality, but less compelling if you prioritize the newest infotainment or maximum versatility.

33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 is presented as a well-built, high-quality sedan that emphasizes durability through solid execution rather than flashy ownership perks. Its performance tuning is described as smooth, predictable, and confidence-inspiring, which supports the impression of a car that should feel composed over time.

Mazda also focuses on generous standard equipment and reasonable pricing instead of leaning on long warranty coverage or free maintenance offers. For used buyers, that means your long-term ownership risk is more about finding a well-kept example than worrying about a model that was poorly equipped from the start.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mazda MAZDA6?

At 60.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks for prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, and signs of repair quality. Focus on overall condition, because the car’s appeal depends heavily on how well its styling, cabin materials, and driving feel have been preserved.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport and Touring use a 186-horsepower Skyactiv 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, while the rest get a turbocharged 250-hp version of that powerplant. The Carbon Edition is based on the Grand Touring Reserve trim level and adds exclusive Polymetal Gray paint, red leather and contrast stitching, and black metallic wheels. Signature trim adds brilliant silver 19-inch wheels, a Gunmetal-finish grille, premium Nappa leather upholstery, genuine Sen wood trim, LED interior lighting, a black headliner, and Ultrasuede inserts.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. On 93-octane fuel, it makes 250 hp and 320 pound-feet of torque; on 87-octane fuel, output drops to 227 hp and 310 lb-ft. A six-speed automatic transmission with Sport mode sends power to the front wheels, and all-wheel drive is not available.
• Safety package: Every 2021 Mazda6 includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Grand Touring Reserve adds adaptive headlights, a wiper de-icer system, and an Active Driving Display. Signature adds driver-attention alert, traffic-sign recognition, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: The car uses an 8-inch screen and the first-generation Mazda Connect system. It includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Radio, internet radio, text-messaging support, and E911 automatic emergency notification. Grand Touring trim and higher add wireless Apple CarPlay, three free months of SiriusXM satellite radio, and an 11-speaker Bose premium audio system, while Signature adds embedded navigation and three years of SiriusXM Travel Link services.
• Fuel efficiency: The Mazda6 Turbo gets 26 mpg in combined driving, and testing returned 26.1 mpg.

Which 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, Carbon Edition, and Signature.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Mazda6’s core appeal without the higher-trim extras. It suits you if you want the style and driving character at the lowest starting point, but it is the trim most likely to feel light on convenience and luxury features compared with the rest of the lineup.
• Touring: This is the better-value choice if you want a step up from the base model without jumping too far up the price ladder. It keeps the Mazda6’s engaging personality while moving you closer to the more polished equipment mix that makes the car feel special.
• Grand Touring: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of features and everyday usability. It adds wireless Apple CarPlay, three free months of SiriusXM satellite radio, and an 11-speaker Bose premium audio system, making it the most compelling all-around pick for many shoppers.
• Grand Touring Reserve: This is the right choice if you want more of the upscale and safety-tech feel. It adds adaptive headlights, a wiper de-icer system, and an Active Driving Display, so it suits you if you value extra convenience and visibility features.
• Carbon Edition: This trim is for you if style matters as much as equipment. Its exclusive paint, red leather, contrast stitching, and black metallic wheels make it the most distinctive-looking version, and it is based on the Grand Touring Reserve trim level.
• Signature: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with premium Nappa leather, genuine Sen wood trim, LED interior lighting, and the most advanced safety-tech package. It is the trim to buy if you want the Mazda6 to feel closest to a mainstream luxury sedan.

The safety package starts with strong standard equipment on every trim, while Grand Touring Reserve and Signature add more advanced driver-assistance and visibility features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mazda MAZDA6?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 186 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,817, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6's resale value?

The current average of $19,552 sits slightly below last year's $20,381.

That decline suggests the model has softened in the used market, which can be good news if you are buying now but less favorable if you are planning to sell soon. If you own one, the current pricing trend means you may need to be realistic about trade-in or private-party expectations.

Even so, the Mazda6’s distinctive styling and strong enthusiast appeal can help support demand among shoppers who want something more engaging than the average midsize sedan. Well-kept examples should continue to attract attention, especially if they present cleanly and are equipped with desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 safe?

The 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 earns the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick+ rating and five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in nearly every assessment.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s i-Activesense suite is standard on every trim and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Grand Touring Reserve adds adaptive headlights, a wiper de-icer system, and an Active Driving Display, while Signature adds driver-attention alert, traffic-sign recognition, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and front and rear parking sensors.

One caveat is that the system does not include a lane-centering function, which some rivals offer. Even so, the standard safety package is broad, and the crash-test results are a strong point for used shoppers.

Should I buy a 2021 Mazda MAZDA6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model stands out as an older but still distinctive midsize sedan with strong style, premium materials, and a fun-to-drive character.

The bottom line: If you want the Mazda6’s best mix of style, driving enjoyment, and current market value, the 2021 is a sensible place to shop. If you are especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest examples near the low end of the range and compare them carefully against other model years before you decide.
