How much does the 2021 Kia Stinger cost?

Prices have softened 9.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 413 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Kia Stinger a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from users and 8.83/10 from our experts point to a strong overall case for the 2021 Kia Stinger. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

The Stinger’s appeal comes from its head-turning, low-slung, four-door sports-car shape and its unusual place in Kia’s lineup. It also stands out as a value-oriented performance and luxury car, with multiple powertrain options and a driving character that’s meant to be fun.

The main trade-off is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to pay close attention to equipment if those matter to you. The market currently shows 32.0% good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Kia Stinger reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Stinger’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward gas-engine lineup and Kia’s emphasis on value and durability. The four-cylinder model is described as lively and full of pep, while the V6 is presented as a true performance engine with strong output and a distinctive exhaust note.

Kia’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty also adds peace of mind for ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the car was maintained properly, especially if you’re considering a higher-output or more heavily equipped version.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Kia Stinger?

At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping for a higher-mileage or lower-priced example. Focus on condition, equipment level, and whether the car has the safety features you want, since not every trim includes the same driver-assistance tech.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GT-Line includes a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless device charging, dual-zone climate control, a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped flat-bottom sport steering wheel. The GT1 adds LED accent lighting, an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, and the more powerful V6 powertrain, while the GT2 adds Nappa leather, 16-way power-adjustable sport seats, heated-and-ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, sport gauges, a head-up display, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 255 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The GT uses a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic, and you can get rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, but automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward-collision warning, and automatic high beams require moving up from the GT-Line and GT to the higher-level GT1 and GT2 models.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 7 inches, and upgraded trims get an 8-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with Bluetooth, multiple USB ports, and wireless device charging. The GT2 adds a 15-speaker Harman Kardon premium stereo system.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder RWD model returns 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. With AWD, it gets 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. The V6 model returns 17 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined with either RWD or AWD.

Which 2021 Kia Stinger trim should I buy?

The 2021 Kia Stinger is offered in 4 trim levels: GT-Line, GT, GT1, GT2.

Here's the short version:

• GT-Line: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the Stinger’s style, standard comfort features, and lower starting price without jumping to the V6. It gives you the core cabin equipment and the standard four-cylinder powertrain.
• GT: This trim is the step up if you want the V6 performance and the more serious driving hardware, including variable exhaust, launch control, Brembo performance brakes, and a limited-slip differential. It’s the right pick if performance matters most.
• GT1: This is the trim to target if you want the stronger V6 setup plus more comfort and convenience equipment than the GT-Line. It adds LED accent lighting and a power-adjustable front passenger seat, making it a strong middle-ground choice.
• GT2: This is the most luxurious version, with Nappa leather, upgraded seats, heated-and-ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, sport gauges, and a head-up display. Choose it if you want the most premium Stinger experience.

Most driver-assistance features are only standard on the higher-level GT1 and GT2 models, so those trims are the safest bet if you want the fullest safety equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Kia Stinger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 413 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,364, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Kia Stinger's resale value?

The current average of $24,398 sits slightly below last year's $26,944.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than just model-year desirability.

Well-equipped examples with strong maintenance records should hold up better than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Kia Stinger safe?

The 2021 Kia Stinger earns Good ratings from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, but more advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for the higher-level GT1 and GT2 trims. That means you need to check the equipment list carefully if you want automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward-collision warning, and automatic high beams.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup, so lower trims leave you with less protection tech than many shoppers may expect.

Should I buy a 2021 Kia Stinger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers strong value, multiple powertrain choices, and a sporty, distinctive design.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,363, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $24,398 average.
• It gets more power, especially from the base engine.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2021 is the smarter buy because it already delivers the Stinger’s core performance and style at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for the refresh and extra power, the 2022 is the better choice for buyers who want the newest version.
