Used 2021 Honda Ridgeline for Sale nearKansas City, MO

How much does the 2021 Honda Ridgeline cost?

Prices have softened 5.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 806 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Honda Ridgeline earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, ride quality, spacious interior, and innovative truck bed and cargo space. The overview also points to a truck that blends everyday usability with a more polished driving experience, while the expert review highlights stylish design, powerful engine performance, and great handling.

The main trade-offs are limited towing and payload capacity, plus no alternate bed or cab configurations. That makes it a better fit if you want a midsize pickup that feels easy to live with rather than one built around maximum work-truck flexibility.

Good and great deals account for 37.6% of listings, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for comfort, ride quality, and features that make the truck easy to live with over time. The expert review also describes it as a strong daily driver with a smooth, refined V6 and a truck setup that feels well suited to regular use.

Honda’s performance notes reinforce that sense of durability by emphasizing the Ridgeline’s smooth, refined gasoline V6 and its torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system. The cost-effectiveness discussion also suggests it is built for the long haul of everyday driving, even if it is not the most capability-focused pickup.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its strengths are more about comfort and usability than maximum truck-duty toughness, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Ridgeline?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you plan to use the truck for towing or rougher roads. Focus on overall condition, signs of hard use, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the way you plan to drive it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport trim is the only one with cloth seats, and it comes with the most basic equipment set. Higher trims add more convenience and luxury features, while the top trims include automatic high-beam headlights.
• Powertrain: Every Ridgeline uses a 280-horsepower V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. It also includes Snow, Sand, and Mud drive settings, but it is not built for serious rock crawling.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and lane-centering assistance. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is standard on all but the Sport.
• Infotainment: Every Ridgeline gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a seven-speaker sound system, text-messaging capability, basic HondaLink connected services, and USB charging ports. Higher trims add SiriusXM, HD Radio, navigation, voice recognition, traffic information, a premium sound system, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2021 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, RTL, RTL-E, Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Ridgeline formula with the standard V6, all-wheel drive, and the basic infotainment and safety setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is also the trim with the fewest comfort and convenience extras.
• RTL: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without changing the Ridgeline’s core strengths. If you want a more upscale daily driver and do not need the top-end extras, this is the trim to target first.
• RTL-E: This trim is for you if you want a more fully equipped Ridgeline with more premium tech and convenience features. It suits buyers who plan to keep the truck longer and want a richer ownership experience.
• Black Edition: This is the range-topping choice for shoppers who want the most upscale presentation and the fullest feature set. It is the one to consider if you want the most premium version of the Ridgeline.

Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is standard on all but the Sport, and the top trims include automatic high-beam headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Ridgeline?

The market looks moderately favorable if you are a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 806 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,038, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $27,038 sits slightly below last year's $28,584.

That softer pricing suggests the Ridgeline is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago. If you buy now, you may benefit from a lower entry point, but future resale gains could be more gradual if the market stays soft.

The truck’s appeal should still help support demand because it offers a distinctive mix of comfort, utility, and everyday drivability. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline safe?

The 2021 Honda Ridgeline earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and lane-centering assistance. It also has a multi-angle reversing camera, while blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is standard on all but the Sport, and automatic high-beam headlights are reserved for the top trims.

The safety review also notes that the adaptive cruise control can react too aggressively in some situations, which is a useful reminder to stay alert even with driver-assistance tech engaged. Honda’s crashworthiness engineering is built into the truck, but the 2021 redesign means new crash-test results were still pending in the source material.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a freshened truck look while keeping the Ridgeline’s comfort-first, everyday-friendly character.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $25,401, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $27,038 average.
• It emphasizes comfort and better driving dynamics over maximum capability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,149, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $27,038 average.
• It carries over the same comfort-focused formula with little change.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, freshness, and everyday usability, the 2021 is the sweet spot. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 can save you money while keeping the same basic appeal.
