How much does the 2021 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 6.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,129 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda Accord a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Honda Accord earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 9.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Drivers consistently praise its great performance, luxurious features, and good gas mileage. The user feedback also points to a modern look and technology, while the expert review highlights refined features, strong value, and a well-rounded package.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available and the technology is described as outdated. That matters most if you want extra traction or the newest infotainment experience, but the Accord still fits buyers who want a stylish, spacious sedan with broad everyday appeal.

Good and great deals account for 34.3% of listings, so there is still room to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2021 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers also emphasizing good gas mileage and strong performance over time. The expert review reinforces that the Accord is built to be a practical daily driver, with measured power delivery and easy maneuverability that support long-term confidence.

Honda also notes improved Idle Stop performance for quicker restarts, which adds a small but useful convenience touch. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about choosing the right trim and condition, especially if you want stronger acceleration or newer tech.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Accord?

At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with prior damage or higher mileage. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and whether the equipment level matches the trim you want. If you are shopping for a higher-trim car, make sure the added features still work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the base model, and it misses some of the more upscale touches found higher up the range. The Sport SE adds leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated mirrors, keyless entry, and remote engine start, making it the most compelling value step-up for many shoppers.
• Powertrain: The Accord offers a 192-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with a CVT on the LX, Sport, Sport SE, and EX-L, plus a 252-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four with a 10-speed automatic on the Sport 2.0T and Touring. The smaller engine is the efficiency play, while the larger one is the more engaging choice.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and automatic high beams. Higher trims add rear-seat reminder, low-speed braking control, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Every Accord gets an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, hands-free text messaging, and two USB ports. Higher trims add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a 10-speaker premium audio system, WiFi hotspot capability, and Near Field Communication.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter engine is rated at 30 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined, while the 2.0-liter engine returns 22 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda Accord is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, Sport 1.5T, Sport Special Edition (SE), EX-L, Sport 2.0T, and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Accord experience with the standard 1.5-liter turbo engine, the 8-inch touchscreen, and Honda Sensing. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup.
• Sport 1.5T: This trim adds a more expressive look and keeps the efficient turbo engine, making it a good middle-ground choice if you want style without moving too far up the price ladder.
• Sport Special Edition (SE): This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it builds on the Sport with leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated mirrors, keyless entry, and remote engine start.
• EX-L: This is the comfort-focused step up if you want a more upscale cabin and available moonroof equipment, while still staying with the 1.5-liter engine.
• Sport 2.0T: Choose this if you want the stronger 2.0-liter turbo engine and a more engaging drive. It also gets the sportier equipment set associated with the Sport line.
• Touring: This is the top trim and the one to buy if you want the most features, including the head-up display, HomeLink Remote, and the fullest tech and convenience package.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, and higher trims add blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to find value.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,129 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,547, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $21,557 sits slightly below last year's $23,085.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale values may be shaped by how well the market absorbs this model year’s current discount. If prices stabilize, buyers who purchase near the low end of the range could be positioned well later. If depreciation continues, higher-mileage or lower-trim cars may feel the pressure first.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda Accord safe?

The 2021 Honda Accord earns an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Accord comes standard with vehicle stability assist with traction control, brake assist, a rearview camera, LED daytime running lights, automatic high beams, and Honda Sensing. That suite includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and automatic high beams.

Higher trims add rear-seat reminder, low-speed braking control, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert. The EX-L and Touring also add body-colored parking sensors, with more sensors on the Touring.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda refined the features list, added a trim level, and made safety a priority.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,930, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $21,557 average.
• It blends style, comfort, and everyday usefulness with a huge back seat and giant trunk.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall package, the 2021 is the better target because it brings updated features, strong safety, and broad appeal. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2020 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in clean condition with the equipment you want.
