Used 2021 Genesis GV80 for Sale near Maryland

How much does the 2021 Genesis GV80 cost?

Prices have softened 12.29% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 420 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Genesis GV80 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Genesis GV80 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, high-tech interior, comfort, and strong performance, especially from the turbo engine. The GV80’s stylish design and polished cabin also come through clearly in owner feedback, which helps explain why it feels like a serious luxury entry rather than a newcomer.

The trade-offs are that the base engine is underwhelming and the third row is cramped, so you should weigh those compromises against the SUV’s upscale presentation and technology. For shoppers who want a three-row luxury SUV with a distinctive feel and strong value proposition, the GV80 fits that brief well.

Good and great deals account for 36.9% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Genesis GV80 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for the GV80’s comfort, luxury, and strong performance over time. The expert review also emphasizes Genesis’s long warranty coverage and complimentary scheduled maintenance, which adds confidence for used buyers who want lower ownership stress.

That said, you should still pay close attention to service history and overall condition, because long-term ownership risk is always lower when the vehicle has been maintained consistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if it looks clean on the listing page. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the cabin electronics, suspension behavior, and the condition of the third row and cargo area. Focus on whether the vehicle feels as well-kept as its luxury positioning suggests.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GV80’s trim structure changes wheel size, interior presentation, and equipment level, with 19-inch, 20-inch, or 22-inch wheels depending on trim. Higher trims add more upscale features, so base versions are the ones most likely to feel lightest on luxury content.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 375 horsepower. The four-cylinder is described as sufficient but a bit thrashy when pushed, while the V6 is smoother and stronger.
• Safety package: The GV80 includes a broad suite of driver assistance features such as blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, driver attention warning, safe-exit assist, adaptive cruise control with machine learning, highway-driving assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist. Some features are more advanced than others, so you should confirm the exact equipment on the trim you’re considering.
• Infotainment: The GV80 uses a 14.5-inch HD screen, supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and receives over-the-air updates. Navigation is standard, and the system also supports cloud profiles and connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5T is rated at 21 mpg city/25 mpg highway/23 mpg combined with RWD and 21/25/22 with AWD. The 3.5T AWD is rated at 18 mpg city/23 mpg highway/20 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Genesis GV80 is offered in 7 trim levels: 2.5T RWD Standard, 2.5T RWD Advanced, 2.5T RWD Prestige, 2.5T AWD Standard, 2.5T AWD Advanced, 2.5T AWD Prestige, 3.5T AWD Standard.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5T RWD Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GV80’s design, cabin quality, and technology without paying for the pricier powertrain or upper-trim extras. It makes the most sense if you value the SUV’s core luxury feel and want the lowest starting price.
• 2.5T RWD Advanced: This trim adds more equipment while keeping the more affordable rear-wheel-drive setup, making it a strong value choice if you want a better-balanced feature set than the base model.
• 2.5T RWD Prestige: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the four-cylinder rear-wheel-drive model and are willing to pay for more comfort and convenience content.
• 2.5T AWD Standard: This is the better pick if you want all-wheel drive and still want to stay near the lower end of the lineup. It’s a practical choice for shoppers who want traction without jumping to the V6.
• 2.5T AWD Advanced: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment while keeping the more efficient four-cylinder powertrain and AWD.
• 2.5T AWD Prestige: Pick this if you want the most fully equipped four-cylinder AWD version and are willing to pay for the added luxury content.
• 3.5T AWD Standard: Choose this if you care most about the smoother, stronger V6 and standard AWD, even if you’re staying with the entry version of that engine family.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but you should still confirm which advanced features are standard on the exact trim you’re shopping.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Genesis GV80?

The market looks moderate and selective, so you have room to shop, but the best listings may not last long.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 420 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.29% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,168, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $30,168 sits slightly below last year's $34,393.

That decline suggests the GV80 has become more affordable on the used market, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you’re planning to sell soon. A softer price trend usually means future resale gains may be more limited unless demand strengthens.

Even so, the GV80’s luxury positioning, strong feature content, and broad owner satisfaction help support buyer interest. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Genesis GV80 safe?

The Genesis GV80 has not yet been rated for crashworthiness by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The GV80 comes with a long list of standard safety and driver-assistance features, including 10 airbags, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, driver attention warning, safe-exit assist, adaptive cruise control with machine learning, highway-driving assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

A key caveat is that crash-test ratings were not yet available, so you should lean more heavily on the vehicle’s active safety equipment and the condition of the specific used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2021 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the expert review: it’s Genesis’s first SUV, with a three-row layout, strong technology, and a polished luxury feel.

The bottom line: The 2021 GV80 is the right pick if you want this model year’s blend of style, technology, and value at a softened used price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can shop carefully for a well-kept example with a clean history and strong equipment, since the market still offers a decent number of listings.
