Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 a good car?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 earns a 7.67/10 expert rating, and the evaluation describes it as a stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding midsize luxury SUV.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It fits you well if you want a midsize luxury SUV with a classic upscale feel, strong power, and modern technology. The main trade-offs are seat comfort, which is not what it should be, and the need for a USB cable to use smartphone mirroring. Fuel economy is another compromise, especially if you prioritize efficiency over performance.

The market looks reasonably favorable, with 38.2% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 reliable?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 is presented as a mostly rewarding luxury SUV with a strong warranty, complimentary maintenance, and connected services that help support ownership confidence.

Its powertrains are described as capable and refined, and the evaluation notes that the SUV is quiet and composed while still feeling luxurious and communicative in everyday driving. The cost-effectiveness commentary also points to generous new-car coverage and included maintenance perks, which can reduce early ownership friction.

At the same time, the GV80’s thirsty engines mean you may spend more at the pump, especially with the twin-turbo V6. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that comfort and fuel costs may matter more over time than the SUV’s strong feature content.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping higher-mileage examples or a more heavily optioned trim. Focus on seat condition, infotainment operation, and whether the vehicle’s features work as expected, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and technology.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GV80 is offered with Standard, Advanced, Prestige, and Prestige Signature trims. The base setup gives you the core luxury-SUV experience, while higher trims add more upscale materials and features; the Prestige and Prestige Signature stand out for their more premium interior presentation and added display content.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, or a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive, and the V6 adds stronger performance along with upgraded front brakes and adaptive damping suspension.
• Safety package: Standard and available driver-assistance features include Blind-Spot View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Highway Driving Assist, active blind-spot warning technology, and blind-spot warnings shown through the head-up display. The system coverage is broad, but some features are more prominent on higher trims.
• Infotainment: Every 2024 GV80 gets a 14.5-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Genesis Connected Services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless smartphone charging. Prestige and Prestige Signature add a 12.3-inch digital display with a subtle 3D appearance, plus a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The twin-turbo V6 is rated at 20 mpg in combined driving, and the evaluation observed 17.2 mpg on a test loop.

Which 2024 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 is offered in 4 trim levels: Standard, Advanced, Prestige, and Prestige Signature.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GV80’s core luxury, standard all-wheel drive, and broad feature set without stretching for extras.
• Advanced: This is the trim to consider if you want a better balance of equipment and value, since it builds on the base model without jumping all the way to the top.
• Prestige: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale cabin feel and the more desirable display and convenience upgrades.
• Prestige Signature: Choose this only if you want the most lavish presentation, exclusive exterior colors, and the fullest luxury treatment.

The safety package includes Blind-Spot View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Highway Driving Assist, with additional blind-spot support through the head-up display on higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Genesis GV80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,695 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,011, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $44,690 sits slightly below last year's $49,088.

That decline suggests the GV80 has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help you enter the market at a better price. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale values to reflect the model’s recent softening rather than a strong upward trend.

If you buy well now, you may be able to limit depreciation pain by starting from a lower entry price. The strongest resale position will likely come from well-kept examples with desirable equipment and clean history.

Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA. It also earns four-star ratings for the driver and passenger seating positions in the frontal-impact test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The GV80’s standard and available safety tech includes Blind-Spot View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Highway Driving Assist, active blind-spot warning technology, and blind-spot warnings shown in the head-up display. That gives you a strong safety net for lane changes, parking, and highway driving.

The main caveat is that the NHTSA frontal-impact results are lower than the overall score, so you should still pay attention to vehicle condition and crash history when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2024 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.96% compared with last year.
• It’s stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding, with strong technology and a traditional luxury feel.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,777, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $44,690 average.
• It offers value-focused luxury with standard all-wheel drive and a flexible trim lineup.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $49,418, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $44,690 average.
• It adds a refreshed interior and exterior plus wireless smartphone mirroring.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, safety, and luxury feel, the 2024 is the sweet spot. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value play; if you want the newest tech and refreshed styling, the 2025 is worth the premium.
