How much does the 2021 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 10.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,430 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2021 GMC Terrain a good car?

Yes — the 2021 GMC Terrain earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its stylish interior, feature set, smooth ride, and fuel efficiency. For you, that makes it a good fit if you want a compact SUV that feels a bit more polished and comfortable for everyday driving. With 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights a dependable ownership experience, with drivers emphasizing the Terrain’s smooth ride and overall value. The recurring praise for its comfort and fuel efficiency suggests a vehicle many owners feel confident living with over time. For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction can reduce long-term ownership risk, especially if you verify maintenance history and condition before buying.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 GMC Terrain?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for prior damage, uneven wear, and signs of poor repairs. Because the Terrain’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and condition, pay close attention to the cabin, electronics, and overall maintenance records. If a listing looks especially clean and well-kept, that matters more than chasing the lowest sticker price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 GMC Terrain?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what to look for.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,430 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,032, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $18,032 sits slightly below last year's $20,151.

That price decline suggests the Terrain has become more affordable in the used market, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale gains may be more limited unless the vehicle is especially clean, well maintained, and attractively equipped. Strong condition and a good ownership record matter more when the market has already moved down. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,379, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $18,032 average.
• It adds a rugged AT4 trim with standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the stronger starting point because it combines lower pricing with solid deal availability and strong owner satisfaction. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year and the added AT4 flavor, the 2022 is the alternative to consider.
