Used 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 6.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,898 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used trucks to compare.

Is the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD. The overview points to a heavy-duty pickup that leans more upscale than many rivals, with more trim levels than the related Silverado 2500HD and a broader range of upscale options and features. That makes it a strong fit if you want serious capability with a more premium cabin and feature set. The market also shows 34.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also flags several issues to watch for, including check engine lights tied to diesel particulate filters or emissions sensors, sluggish infotainment responses, rough or delayed shifts, electrical glitches, MultiPro tailgate flaws, and faulty trailer brake controllers. For used buyers, that means reliability can hinge on how well a specific truck has been maintained and whether its known trouble spots have already been addressed.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough pre-purchase inspection that checks for warning lights, transmission behavior, and electrical issues. Pay close attention to the infotainment system, tailgate operation, and trailer brake controller function, since those are among the model’s known trouble areas. Condition matters a lot here because this truck can be expensive even on the used market, so you want proof that the truck’s capability and luxury features still work as intended.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,898 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $50,127, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $50,127 sits slightly below last year's $53,379.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has already moved down from its prior-year level, which can help future buyers but may limit near-term upside for sellers. If you own one and keep it in strong condition, you can still support resale by presenting a clean history and documented maintenance. Trucks with desirable trims and well-kept features tend to hold attention better when shoppers compare used heavy-duty pickups.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $48,715, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $50,127 average.
• It offers Denali appeal with strong capability and plenty of cargo space.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $51,347, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $50,127 average.
• It adds a more versatile mix of capability, infotainment, trailering tech, and safety.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around pick if you want a premium-feeling heavy-duty truck with strong satisfaction and decent deal availability. If price is your top priority, the 2020 is the better value path; if you want a newer-feeling feature mix and can spend more, the 2022 is worth a look.
