Overview

Ford updates its Transit Cargo work van for 2021 with a set of specific options packages designed to make the Transit ready for an array of projects and lifestyles.
The RV Prep Package, Parcel Delivery Package, and Adventure Prep Package make the Transit Cargo ready for recreation and work straight from the factory. The RV Prep Package provides blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, a heavy-duty trailer tow package, fog lamps, and available four-way manual driver- and passenger seats.
A Transit Cargo with the Parcel Delivery Package gains 50/50-split rear cargo doors and full interior lighting for the cargo area. The driver and passenger seats also lose their armrests, making access to the rear a bit easier.
And if you’re buying a Transit Cargo to take camping, the Adventure Prep Package offers much of what you’ll need and want. Among these items are all-wheel drive, a limited-slip differential, a heavy-duty front axle, privacy glass, and an array of tech and safety features to make getting out to your trailhead easier.
Ford offers two engines in the Transit Cargo. A 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 makes 275 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, while the company’s 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 makes 310 hp and 400 lb-ft. Both engines pair with a ten-speed automatic transmission, and can be paired with front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).
Shoppers can purchase the Transit Cargo in a variety of trims. The 150, 250, and 350 trim levels can be specified with a combination of low- medium- and high roofs as well as regular- long- and extended-length wheelbases.
Ford also made a few adjustments to the Transit Cargo to make it more practical and capable. First up, Transit vans up to 9,500 pounds GVWR have lost their manual parking brakes in exchange for an electronic unit, which frees up lots of space between the front seats. A new dual-rear-wheel Transit Cargo also offers a maximum GVWR of 11,000 pounds.
With regards to safety equipment, Ford includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and auto high beams as standard equipment. Co-Pilot360, which adds even more advanced safety tech is also available.
Pricing on the 2021 Ford Transit Cargo starts at $35,270 for a 150 with the low roof and RWD. Prices rise north of $50,000 for the dual-rear-wheel 350 with a high roof and extended long-wheelbase. Regardless of project or purpose, Ford likely builds a Transit Cargo up to the job.

Ive had a Ford E150 for 20 years and it was pretty dependable. The Transit looks good and hopefully will be equally dependable. This one seemed to have everything I wanted and will be as economical.
