Used 2021 Ford F-150 for Sale nearColumbia, MO

How much does the 2021 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 6.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,600 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy range of choices.

Is the 2021 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 4.84/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 7.83/10. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, modern technology, and excellent ride comfort. They also like the fuel efficiency of the smaller engines and the truck’s versatility, which makes it useful as a commuter, family hauler, and work truck.

The trade-offs are familiar for a full-size pickup: pricing can climb quickly, the base engine is underwhelming, and some buyers wish for more convenience features in lower trims. Even so, the F-150’s broad configuration range and available hybrid powertrain make it easy to tailor to your needs.

With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.84/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, with praise for its strong performance, comfort, and versatility over time. That kind of response usually matters more than a single feature list when you’re trying to judge how a used truck will hold up in everyday ownership.

The expert evaluation also supports that impression by noting good road manners and a powertrain lineup that gives you plenty of choice. The hybrid’s fuel-saving potential is a plus, and the truck’s overall design aims to balance capability with everyday usability.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about choosing the right configuration and condition, since higher trims and complex equipment can raise ownership costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any truck you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. A pre-purchase inspection matters too, especially on higher-mileage examples or trucks with towing equipment. Focus on overall condition, because trim level and option content can change the ownership experience a lot.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin ranges from spartan in the base XL to much more luxurious in King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited, so you should pay close attention to material quality and feature content if you want a more upscale truck.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 3.3-liter V6, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, 5.0-liter V8, Power Stroke 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, or the PowerBoost hybrid; the hybrid is the most powerful, while the non-hybrid 3.5-liter EcoBoost is the towing leader.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams, while lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, hill-descent control, and intersection assist are extra-cost items.
• Infotainment: Sync 4 brings an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air updates; higher trims can add a 12-inch touchscreen and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The PowerBoost hybrid returns 25 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive and 24 mpg combined with four-wheel drive, while the Power Stroke diesel is listed at 27 mpg highway with 4WD.

Which 2021 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford F-150 is offered in 6 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the work-focused starting point, but it’s also where you’ll feel the biggest feature gap in materials and comfort. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and don’t mind a more basic cabin.
• XLT: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it gives you a more balanced mix of everyday usability and equipment without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Lariat: This trim is the better pick if you want a more premium feel and more convenience features without going all the way to the luxury-oriented upper trims.
• King Ranch: This is the sweet spot if you want a distinctly upscale truck, with leather upholstery and wood trim that make the cabin feel much richer.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want a more luxurious F-150 with a high-end presentation and you’re willing to pay for it.
• Limited: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most upscale version of the truck and are comfortable with the highest pricing.

Advanced safety features are not standard, so check carefully which driver-assistance items are included on the specific truck you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford F-150?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,600 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,601, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $32,601 sits slightly below last year's $35,007.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give buyers more negotiating room today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, mileage, condition, and equipment rather than just the model year alone.

Because the truck still has broad appeal and strong demand across work and family use cases, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than more specialized vehicles. Higher trims and desirable powertrains may also help support stronger resale performance.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.84/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2021 Ford F-150 earns a good IIHS roof-strength result, and full crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS weren’t available yet when this model launched.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. Lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, hill-descent control, and intersection assist are available, but they cost extra.

The main safety caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to check the exact truck carefully if those systems matter to you.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.84/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds the new Sync 4 system and an available hybrid powertrain, which broaden its appeal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $28,180, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $32,601 average.
• It offers an accommodating and modern interior with comfortable road manners.

The 2021 is the better pick if you want the newer tech, broader powertrain choice, and stronger feature set. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up some of the 2021 updates, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly path.
