How much does the 2021 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,242 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Ford Bronco earns a 4.47/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Drivers consistently praise its bold design, smooth ride, and versatility, and many also like the powerful performance and advanced tech features. The Bronco’s appeal is especially strong if you want a distinctive SUV with serious trail credentials and standout styling. Trade-offs include a soft focus on comfort, plus a noisy cabin and a stereo that is lacking. That makes it a better fit if you value capability and character over quiet commuting refinement. Good and great deals account for 35.4% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.47/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as versatile, fun, and high-performing, and many say it feels like a great value compared with competitors. The Bronco’s strong performance and advanced tech also support the sense that it’s built to be dependable in daily use and on the trail. Ford’s off-road hardware and flexible setup reinforce that impression, especially for buyers who want something they can count on in rough conditions. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that condition can vary a lot depending on how hard the vehicle was used off-road.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because off-road use can leave wear that isn’t obvious at first glance. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the roof, doors, suspension, tires, and cabin noise issues, since those are the kinds of areas that can reveal how the Bronco was treated. Focus on overall condition and equipment level so you know whether the truck matches the kind of use you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim starts with a basic safety setup, while the Big Bend and Black Diamond can add the Mid Package with more driver-assistance features. Higher trims can unlock more equipment, so base models may leave you wanting more convenience and safety content.
• Powertrain: You get a standard turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four with 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, or an optional twin-turbo 2.7-liter inline-four with 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The 2.3-liter pairs with a seven-speed manual, while the 2.7-liter uses a 10-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot 360 includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. The Base vehicle gets only a basic safety setup, while the Mid Package adds those features on select trims.
• Infotainment: The Bronco uses SYNC 4 with enhanced voice recognition, an 8-inch standard touchscreen, and an available 12-inch screen. Wireless device charging is part of the Lux Package, and the system can be upgraded with navigation and a premium audio setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The Bronco is described as having poor fuel economy.

Which 2021 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and First Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco’s core off-road hardware at the lowest price, but it starts with a basic safety setup and fewer convenience features. It makes sense if you plan to build it up carefully and care most about capability.
• Big Bend: This is a smart step up if you want a more rounded Bronco without jumping too far in price. It can add the Mid Package, which brings useful safety and convenience upgrades, making it a strong value choice.
• Black Diamond: Choose this if you want a more trail-ready setup than the lower trims and still want access to the Mid Package. It suits buyers who expect to use the Bronco off-road more often.
• Outer Banks: This trim leans more toward comfort and everyday use while still keeping the Bronco’s style and capability. It can also add the High Package, which brings more advanced safety and visibility tech.
• Badlands: This is the pick if you want a more serious off-road focus and the ability to add the High Package. It fits buyers who want stronger trail capability without going all the way to the top trims.
• Wildtrak: This is aimed at buyers who want a more aggressive, higher-spec Bronco with the High Package available. It’s a good fit if you want a more premium-feeling off-road SUV.
• First Edition: This is the most exclusive version and is best for buyers who want the most complete, fully equipped Bronco experience. It sits at the top of the lineup and is the one to choose if you want the flagship model.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that the Base trim starts with only a basic safety setup, while the Mid Package and High Package add important driver-assistance features on select trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Bronco?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,242 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,884, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $35,884 sits slightly below last year's $39,801.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays cool. If you plan to sell later, the Bronco’s strong enthusiast appeal and broad demand should help support interest. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment are likely to hold attention better than rougher, heavily used trucks. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2021 Ford Bronco has not yet received crash-test ratings from NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot 360 includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and rear-view camera with backup assist grid lines. The Mid Package adds those features on Big Bend and Black Diamond, while the High Package adds a 360-degree camera, a forward-sensing system, and side-view mirror LED approach lamps on Outer Banks, Wildtrak, and Badlands. One caveat is that removable doors and off-road use add inherent safety complexity, even though the Bronco includes side curtain airbags designed to work with off-road conditions.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It launches the Bronco’s modern return with strong off-road focus and broad trim choice.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,102, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $35,884 average.
• It offers serious off-road ability with a better on-road experience than the Jeep Wrangler.

The bottom line: If you want the lower average price and the original modern Bronco launch year, the 2021 is the better starting point. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year with a broader sense of refinement, the 2022 is worth a look. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2021 offers the stronger value case right now.
