How much does the 2021 Dodge Durango cost?

Is the 2021 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Dodge Durango earns a 4.74/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers most often praise its smooth ride, comfortable seating, and spacious interior. They also like the updated technology and powerful engine options, which make it appealing if you want family utility with extra capability.

The trade-offs are fuel efficiency concerns and some missing features that shoppers expected in a modern SUV. In practical terms, the Durango fits you best if you want a versatile SUV with room for people and gear, plus a stronger performance edge than many rivals.

Good and great deals account for 37.8% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.74/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting comfort and confidence in daily use. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Durango’s power delivery is smooth and controlled, which supports the sense that it’s easy to live with over time.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear and uneven maintenance can matter more than the badge itself, so service history should carry real weight.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because accident-free status is only a starting point. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on interior wear, third-row condition, and any signs of hard use. Since this model can be bought in very different configurations, make sure the specific vehicle matches the equipment and comfort level you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Lower trims use cloth upholstery, while higher grades add leather, suede, Nappa leather, or Laguna leather, along with more premium cabin touches and more available wheel choices.
• Powertrain: The Durango offers a 3.6-liter V6, 5.7-liter HEMI V8, 392 HEMI V8, and supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8, all paired with eight-speed automatics; rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional on some models.
• Safety package: The standard setup is limited to a rearview camera, airbags, and electronic stability control, while adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, rear-cross traffic alert, parking sensors, and forward-collision warning are available depending on trim or package.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, higher trims get a 10.1-inch screen, and only the larger display runs Uconnect 5 with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, OTA updates, connected services, and available navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy is not stated in the provided data.

Which 2021 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2021 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, SRT 392.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Durango formula with the V6, the 8.4-inch touchscreen, and the basic family-SUV setup. Choose it if you want the lowest-cost path into the lineup and can live without the richer features found higher up.
• GT: This trim keeps the V6 but adds a more appealing equipment mix than the SXT, including the same 8.4-inch screen and broader comfort appeal. It’s the better-value choice if you want a more satisfying daily driver without jumping into V8 pricing.
• Citadel: This is the more upscale V6 trim, and it’s the one to target if you care more about comfort and premium feel than outright speed. It suits you best if you want a more refined Durango without moving into the performance models.
• R/T: This is the first real performance step, with the 5.7-liter V8 and standard SRT Performance Pages. It’s the right pick if you want stronger acceleration and towing-oriented capability, especially with the available Tow N Go Package.
• SRT 392: This is the high-performance choice with the 392 HEMI V8 and the most aggressive capability short of the Hellcat. Buy this only if you specifically want the performance-first Durango experience.

The safety content makes clear that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup, so check each vehicle carefully for the package you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Dodge Durango?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,772 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,845, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $26,847 sits slightly below last year's $29,233.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Well-kept examples with desirable trims and strong service records should hold up better than average. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.74/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2021 Dodge Durango earns a five-star side crash-test rating and a four-star rollover rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety setup is limited to a rearview camera, airbags, and electronic stability control. Depending on trim or package, you can add adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, rear-cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning.

The main caveat is that advanced safety tech is not standard across the lineup, so you should verify exactly which driver-assistance features are installed on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2021 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.74/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 update brings the new Uconnect 5 system and the available SRT Hellcat and Tow N Go Package.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,849, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $26,847 average.
• It blends three-row practicality with Dodge’s muscle-car image.

The bottom line: If you want the newer infotainment, stronger feature mix, and the broader 2021 lineup, this is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2020 is the smarter value play, especially if you can find one with the equipment you want.
