Used 2021 Chevrolet Trax for Sale near Louisiana

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 12.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,424 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Trax options to compare.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Chevrolet Trax earns a 5/5 user rating and a 5.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

The Trax’s appeal is rooted in its affordable subcompact-SUV positioning, easy-to-use technology, and maneuverable footprint that makes it simple to place in tight spaces. That makes it a practical fit if you want straightforward daily usability and helpful convenience features without stretching your budget.

The trade-offs are just as clear: sluggish performance, cheap-feeling interior materials, and poor ride quality all hold it back. In other words, it works best for you if affordability and city-friendly size matter more than refinement or driving enjoyment.

32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Trax is described as a value-focused small SUV with a simple layout and helpful technology, which can make ownership feel straightforward if you want an easy daily driver. Its compact size and maneuverability also support low-stress use in tight urban settings.

Its performance is modest, though, and the ride quality is a weak point, so long-term satisfaction may depend on whether you’re comfortable living with those compromises. For used buyers, that means the biggest ownership risk is not complexity so much as whether the vehicle’s condition and maintenance history match your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Trax?

At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a lower-priced example. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the vehicle’s equipment and trim match what you expect from the listing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, remote keyless entry, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, dual front USB ports, and a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. The LT adds heated, power-adjustable side mirrors, rear window tint, roof rails, LED head- and taillights, remote start, cruise control, chrome belt-line moldings, silver-painted skid plates, upgraded cloth and leatherette seats, a cargo security cover, and a 120-volt AC power outlet. The LT is the better value if you want more everyday convenience and comfort features.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 138 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. It’s fine around town, but it struggles for power at highway speeds and can be noisy when pushed.
• Safety package: The Trax comes standard with an array of airbags and a backup camera. The LT Convenience Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking sensors. Even so, the Trax does not offer many of the driver-assistance features common in the class.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 7-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet Infotainment 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, voice control, and an available WiFi hotspot. The system is one of the Trax’s strongest points.
• Fuel efficiency: The FWD model returns 26 mpg city, 31 highway, and 28 combined. With AWD, it returns 24 mpg city, 29 highway, and 26 combined.

Which 2021 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2021 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 2 trim levels: LS and LT.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Trax experience with the 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, WiFi hotspot, and the basic convenience features you need for daily driving. It makes sense if your priority is the lowest possible price.
• LT: This is the better-value choice if you want a more complete Trax. It adds useful comfort and convenience upgrades like remote start, roof rails, heated mirrors, upgraded seating materials, and more cargo-friendly equipment, making it the trim most shoppers should target.

The LT Convenience Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking sensors.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,424 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,935, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $13,193 sits slightly below last year's $15,046.

That decline suggests the Trax has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face continued pressure if the market keeps favoring lower-priced small SUVs. If you buy one now, the softer pricing can help you enter at a more favorable point than a year ago.

Because the Trax is positioned as a budget-friendly model, resale value will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level. A cleaner, better-equipped example should be easier to move later than a rougher one with visible wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax safe?

The 2021 Chevrolet Trax earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, but the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety did not give it a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ award.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The Trax comes standard with an array of airbags and a backup camera. The LT Convenience Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking sensors, but the standard safety equipment is still limited compared with many rivals.

A key shortcoming is that many common driver-assistance features are not available at all, including forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-departure warning. That makes safety equipment a major area to scrutinize if you’re shopping used.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model keeps the easy-to-use infotainment and compact, city-friendly footprint that define the Trax’s appeal.

The bottom line: The 2021 Trax makes sense if you want a low-cost, easy-to-park small SUV and you’re willing to accept its performance and ride-quality compromises. If you’re more price-sensitive, the softer market and broad inventory make it worth shopping carefully for the cleanest, best-equipped example you can find.
