Used 2021 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 13.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,133 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 5/5, and the expert rating is 6.67/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, the excellent driving experience, and the value for money. They also highlight the power it delivers, along with the useful feature set. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a three-row SUV that prioritizes room and everyday usability.

The trade-offs are that the Traverse is not a standout in its class, and the expert review calls out poor handling and cheap-feeling interior materials. It makes the most sense if you value passenger space and comfort more than sharp dynamics or a premium cabin.

With a wide range of trims and a clear family-first mission, it suits shoppers who want a roomy SUV rather than a luxury-leaning one. The market also shows 34.6% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable in the way it delivers space, power, and everyday usefulness, and they also point to a generally trouble-free ownership experience. The expert review reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Traverse as competent and easy to live with, with a powertrain that provides enough grunt for highway merging and overtaking.

Chevy also backs it with a three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright mechanical drama and more about finding a well-kept example that has not been worn down by family use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 70.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because this is a family-oriented three-row SUV, pay close attention to seat condition, interior wear, and how well the cabin features still function. A clean-looking listing is not enough; you want proof that the vehicle has been maintained and repaired properly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from L through High Country, and the base Traverse L gets 18-inch wheels while higher trims can move to 20-inch wheels. Higher trims also add more upscale touches, while the interior materials can still feel less premium than the price suggests.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic. It delivers solid highway passing power, though the transmission can shift roughly at times.
• Safety package: Chevy offers automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, but many of these are optional rather than standard. Adaptive cruise control is only available on the High Country trim.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Higher trims can add an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, a 4G-LTE WiFi hotspot, and a Bose 10-speaker audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Traverse is rated at 21 mpg combined with FWD and 20 mpg combined with AWD.

Which 2021 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 7 trim levels: L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the basics at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the Traverse’s space and V6 power without paying for extras, but it is the least equipped version.
• LS: This is the first step up if you want a little more flexibility without jumping too far in price. It is a sensible middle-ground choice for shoppers who want value and a broader feature set than the L.
• LT Cloth: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of equipment and price. It sits in the sweet spot for many buyers because it adds more comfort and convenience without pushing you into the pricier luxury-leaning trims.
• LT Leather: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin feel and are willing to pay for it. It is a better fit if interior comfort matters more than keeping the purchase price down.
• RS: This trim adds blacked-out styling and a more distinctive look. It is the right pick if you want the Traverse to feel a little sportier in appearance, though the underlying driving character remains comfort-focused.
• Premier: This is for shoppers who want a more fully equipped Traverse with more convenience features. It is a good choice if you plan to keep the vehicle for a while and want a richer feature set from the start.
• High Country: This is the top trim and the one to choose if you want the most equipment, including adaptive cruise control. It is the best fit if you want the most complete Traverse and do not mind paying for it.

The safety package is less generous than what you’ll find on some rivals, and several driver-assist features remain optional on lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,133 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.13% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,296, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $21,296 sits slightly below last year's $24,516.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim rather than on broad market appreciation.

Because the Traverse is a family-focused SUV with strong owner satisfaction, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse earns Good ratings from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal and rollover crash tests, and five-star ratings in side-impact crash tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy offers automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, but many of these features are optional rather than standard. Adaptive cruise control is only available on the High Country trim.

One caveat is that IIHS headlight ratings vary by trim level, with both Acceptable and Poor results appearing in the test data. That means you should pay close attention to the exact trim and equipment on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 keeps the current-generation Traverse fresh enough while still offering the roomy, family-first layout buyers want.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $24,584, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $21,296 average.
• It adds updates that were delayed from 2021, including minor styling changes and wireless smartphone connectivity.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and plenty of inventory. If you care more about getting the newer-year updates and are willing to pay more, the 2022 is the cleaner upgrade path.
