Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette 4.87 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette stands out as a stylish, fun-to-drive sports car that delivers excellent value for money. In convertible form, it adds the appeal of powering down the top, and the test-drive notes suggest that the open-air experience can be worth the extra cost. The Corvette also has a distinctive design that helps it feel special without relying on the price tag of a higher-end supercar.
There are tradeoffs, though. The manual transmission is not available, and cargo space is limited. Even so, the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette remains appealing for buyers who want a dramatic-looking performance car that is enjoyable to drive and offers a strong mix of excitement and value.

Unbelievable supercar for the money -love everything about the car, the looks, the shape, inside and performance

C8 Corvette is an exceptional car. However, with that much torque & horsepower , imho the Z51 performance package is absolutely necessary to safely control the car. The selective magnetic suspension is also a must to fully enjoy this car for comfort on longer more casual trips on the interstate , etc.

Convertible, Z-51, Mag. Ride, Front lift, 2LT, upgraded rims, are all things I like. The only negative is the exterior Color.

An incredible supercar , but without the high cost of purchase and maintenance other supercars. A comfortable daily driver that turns into a fire breathing monster at the turn of the mode dial. I love it.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette a good car?
Yes — the 4.87/5 user rating points to very strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 7.83/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Owners repeatedly praise the Corvette’s powerful performance, stunning looks, and strong value for money. They also describe it as the best version yet, which reinforces how well this model year lands with buyers who want excitement without supercar pricing.
The trade-offs are that the interior could be more user-friendly, and some owners feel it strays a bit from the traditional Corvette identity. The overview also frames it as a dramatic, fun-to-drive sports car, with the convertible adding extra appeal if you want open-air driving.

The cost-effectiveness notes also reinforce ownership appeal by highlighting how much performance you get for the money. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about whether the car has been driven hard or maintained carefully.

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the market looks clean overall. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a sports car where hard use, curb rash, and wear items can matter more than mileage alone. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you want.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base trim leaves out some useful visibility and convenience features, while higher trims add more of the equipment you’ll want for everyday use.
- Powertrain: You get a 6.2-liter V8 with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the Z51 package adds performance exhaust, performance-tuned Magnetic Ride Control adaptive dampers, performance brakes, a performance rear-axle ratio, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, heavy-duty cooling, and high-performance run-flat tires.
- Safety package: Chevrolet’s visibility-enhancement suite includes a front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, but those features are restricted to the 2LT and 3LT trims.
- Infotainment: The car uses an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Chevrolet Connected Services with an available 4G LTE WiFi hotspot; the system also supports over-the-air-style connected functionality through its modern software setup.
- Fuel efficiency: The Corvette is described as delivering about three-second 0-60 mph performance and more than 190 mph top speed, but no MPG figure is stated here.
Which 2021 Chevrolet Corvette trim should I buy?
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette is offered in 3 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT.
Here's the short version:
- 1LT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Corvette experience at the lowest price, but you give up some of the convenience and visibility equipment that makes the car easier to live with.
- 2LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the head-up display and unlocks the visibility-enhancement features that matter in daily use.
- 3LT: Choose this if you want the most premium cabin experience and are willing to pay for it.
The visibility-enhancement safety features are limited to the 2LT and 3LT trims, so those are the trims to target if you want the most complete package.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Corvette?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,259 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.94% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 88.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $64,595, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette's resale value?
The current average of $65,077 sits slightly below last year's $68,460.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it means you should expect some depreciation pressure if you buy at the current average and then resell soon after.
The good news is that strong demand for this model year should help support values better than many sports cars. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment and clean history should remain easier to move than rougher cars.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.87/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette safe?
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.
Chevrolet includes Teen Driver technology, which lets you monitor how a paired key fob is used and review a report card on driving behavior. It also offers Chevrolet Connected Services with automatic collision notification and emergency calling.
You also get a standard rearview camera mirror, high-definition reversing camera, and rear parking sensors. If you move up to the 2LT or 3LT trim, you can add a front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The main caveat is that modern driver-assistance systems are largely absent, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, and Super Cruise.
Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.94% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.87/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2021 adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a convertible option that enhances the open-air experience.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $63,420, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $65,077 average.
- It introduced the mid-engine transformation and delivers the core Corvette performance leap.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $68,084, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $65,077 average.
- It keeps the same lineup while adding minor updates and new exterior colors.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and current-market availability, the 2021 is the smart target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2020 can save you money while still delivering the core Corvette experience.
