How much does the 2021 Cadillac XT5 cost?

There are 981 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2021 Cadillac XT5 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Cadillac XT5 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, smooth ride, and powerful performance, and they also call out the spacious interior and comfort-focused features. The XT5’s stylish design, easy-to-use technology, and great handling line up with that feedback.

The trade-offs are clear: the performance is fairly pedestrian compared with rivals, and the interior materials can feel cheap. In practical terms, you’re looking at a premium SUV that fits buyers who value comfort, technology, and polished road manners more than outright speed.

The XT5’s 36.5% good-or-great deal rate suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find.

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting comfort and the kind of qualities that make the SUV easy to count on over time. The expert evaluation also describes it as a well-mannered SUV with solid engine character and competitive positioning among premium rivals.

The ownership risk for used buyers is less about outright mechanical red flags and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly, especially given the mix of trim content and available options.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Cadillac XT5?

At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. It’s also smart to focus on condition details that matter most in a premium SUV, including interior wear, electronics, and whether the equipment on the car matches the listing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Luxury and Premium Luxury trims emphasize upscale design and standard LED lighting, while the Sport trim adds a more aggressive look and standard AWD.
• Powertrain: The Luxury and Premium Luxury trims use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the Premium Luxury can be upgraded to a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 hp and 237 lb-ft; the Sport uses the V6 standard.
• Safety package: Standard safety features include front automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, rear-seat reminder, and a rearview camera. Not all technologies are available in all trim levels.
• Infotainment: The XT5 uses a standard 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, one-touch phone pairing, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, Bluetooth, wireless charging, USB-A and USB-C ports, and available 4G LTE WiFi hotspot capability.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine gets 23 mpg combined with FWD and 21 mpg with AWD, while the V6 is estimated at 24 mpg combined without AWD and 21 mpg combined with AWD.

Which 2021 Cadillac XT5 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Cadillac XT5 is offered in 3 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core XT5 experience with the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, standard LED lighting, and the clean, upscale design that defines the model. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the XT5.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more refined feel and can be upgraded to the V6 if you want stronger performance. It’s the trim that best balances comfort, equipment, and flexibility.
• Sport: Choose this if you want the V6 standard and the more aggressive character that comes with the Sport model. It suits you best if appearance and a more performance-oriented setup matter more than value.

Not all safety technologies are available in all trim levels, so check the equipment list carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Cadillac XT5?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find meaningful value.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 981 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,729, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Cadillac XT5's resale value?

The current average of $24,729 sits slightly below last year's $28,098.

That price movement suggests the XT5 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number. If you shop carefully now, you may have less downside left than a buyer who paid closer to last year’s average.

The model’s broad appeal, comfort-focused character, and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it’s time to sell. Well-equipped examples in good condition are likely to be easier to move than neglected or poorly optioned ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Cadillac XT5 safe?

The XT5 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Its safety technology includes front automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, rear-seat reminder, and a rearview camera. Cadillac also offers Night Vision, adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, automatic seat-belt tightening, HD Surround Vision, rear pedestrian alert, head-up display, and automatic parking assist with braking through available packages.

A key caveat is that not all technologies are standard, and some of the more advanced driver-assistance features require extra packages. That means you should verify exactly which safety equipment is installed on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2021 Cadillac XT5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a more finely appointed cabin with easy-to-use technology and broad premium appeal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,103, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $24,729 average.
• It carries over with minimal changes.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the smarter starting point because prices are softer and the model still delivers the XT5’s core strengths. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year with minimal change, the 2022 is the cleaner alternative; otherwise, the 2021 is the better buy for price-sensitive shoppers.
