Used 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV for Sale nearEl Paso, TX

How much does the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV cost?

Prices have softened 12.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 756 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the SUV’s luxurious feel, powerful performance, and standout features like the massive OLED display and smooth driving experience. That lines up with the model’s use case as a luxury family hauler that prioritizes space and technology, especially if you want something that feels upscale rather than merely oversized.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and fuel economy is poor. Even so, the market still shows 38.0% good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly highlighting the SUV’s luxurious feel, powerful performance, and features they can count on. The expert evaluation also reinforces that sense of confidence by describing the Escalade ESV as a polished, high-tech luxury SUV with strong everyday usability.

Cadillac also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps soften early ownership costs. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether prior use, maintenance history, and expensive tech features have been kept in good shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

At 72.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, electronics, and driver-assistance systems. Because this model leans heavily on technology and luxury equipment, condition matters as much as mileage. Pay close attention to signs of prior repair work, uneven panel gaps, warning lights, and whether the cabin tech and safety systems operate as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Premium Luxury Platinum trims emphasize chrome styling, while Sport and Sport Platinum use blacked-out exterior accents. Even the base grade gets roof rails, power-extending assist steps, LED headlights with auto-leveling, LED taillamps, deep-tinted acoustic glass, automatic windshield wipers, and illuminating door handles, but the upgraded trims add more visual polish and feature content.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, or an available 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel inline-six with 277 hp and 460 lb-ft. Both pair with a 10-speed automatic, and the diesel is available without a premium in this model.
• Safety package: Every Escalade ESV comes standard with front automatic braking, front and rear park assist, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian detection, rear pedestrian detection, safety seat alert, lane-keep assist, and forward-collision assist. Available upgrades include adaptive park assist, a head-up display, rear camera mirror, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, side blind-spot alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, night vision, advanced adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, and automatic seatbelt tightening.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a curved 38-inch OLED display made up of three screens. Wireless charging, NFC phone pairing, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and seven USB ports are standard, and you can upgrade to a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA hasn’t rated the Escalade ESV itself, but the related Escalade returns an EPA-estimated low of 17 mpg combined and a high of 23 mpg combined. In testing, a RWD Escalade ESV averaged around 18 mpg.

Which 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV trim should I buy?

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core Escalade ESV experience with the standard luxury exterior treatment, the 38-inch OLED display, the 19-speaker AKG sound system, and the full standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the space and tech without chasing every extra.
• Premium Luxury: This trim is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it builds on the Luxury trim with more upscale presentation and a stronger luxury feel while staying below the Platinum models. If you want the sweet spot between price and content, this is the one to focus on.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This is for you if you want the most upscale chrome-heavy look and the richest feature set without going to the sport theme. It suits buyers who want the Escalade ESV to feel as premium as possible.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the blacked-out exterior accents and darker wheel treatment. It keeps the same core Escalade ESV strengths but shifts the look toward a more aggressive style.
• Sport Platinum: This is the most distinctive sport-themed version, combining the blacked-out appearance with the top-end presentation. It fits buyers who want the most dramatic styling and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but several advanced driver-assistance features remain optional rather than included on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly when you find a strong one.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 756 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $52,202, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV's resale value?

The current average of $52,202 sits slightly below last year's $59,730.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future sellers if they buy at today’s lower level. If you purchase near the current average or below it, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who bought when prices were higher. Strong condition and clean history will matter a lot for preserving value in a luxury SUV like this.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV safe?

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with three-star rollover results and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Escalade ESV comes standard with front automatic braking, front and rear park assist, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian detection, rear pedestrian detection, safety seat alert, lane-keep assist, and forward-collision assist. Cadillac also offers a long list of available upgrades, including adaptive park assist, a head-up display, rear camera mirror, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, side blind-spot alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, night vision, advanced adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, and automatic seatbelt tightening.

The main caveat is the rollover result, which is a reminder that this is a tall, heavy SUV. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to which driver-assistance features are included on the specific listing you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 stands out for being one of the most high-tech SUVs you can buy, with the extended ESV body adding cargo room while keeping passenger space nearly the same.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of space, technology, and buyer satisfaction, the 2021 is the right target year to shop. If your priority is simply spending less, you can still look at nearby years, but the 2021’s softened pricing and strong owner feedback make it the more compelling choice for shoppers who want the Escalade ESV experience without paying peak-market pricing.
