Used 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV for Sale nearColumbia, SC

How much does the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV cost?

Prices have softened 13.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 746 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the SUV’s impressive features, powerful performance, and luxurious feel. The massive OLED display and smooth driving experience come up as recurring positives, and the overall impression is that you’re getting a highly upscale, tech-forward family hauler.

The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and fuel economy is poor. That said, the ESV’s extra cargo room and nearly unchanged passenger space make it especially appealing if you want a large SUV that feels modern rather than merely oversized.

Good and great deals account for 36.6% of listings, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on the SUV’s luxurious feel, powerful performance, and standout features. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Escalade ESV is a vehicle you can count on for comfort and technology, especially if you spend a lot of time behind the wheel on the highway.

Cadillac also includes a strong standard equipment set, which helps reduce the feeling that you need to add a lot just to make the SUV usable day to day. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is a complex, high-end SUV, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

At 72% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a long option list. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the technology and driver-assistance features operate as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Premium Luxury Platinum trims emphasize chrome styling, while Sport and Sport Platinum use blacked-out exterior accents. Even the base grade gets luxury touches such as roof rails, power-extending assist steps, LED headlights with auto-leveling, LED taillamps, and illuminating door handles, but the higher trims add more visual polish and feature content.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 6.2-liter V8 or a 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel inline-six, both paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The gasoline engine is standard and delivers 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, while the diesel makes 277 hp and 460 lb-ft. Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are both available.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes front automatic braking, front and rear park assist, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian detection, rear pedestrian detection, safety seat alert, lane-keep assist, and forward-collision assist. Available upgrades include adaptive park assist, a head-up display, rear camera mirror, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, side blind-spot alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, night vision, advanced adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, and automatic seatbelt tightening.
• Infotainment: You get a curved 38-inch OLED display, standard wireless charging, NFC phone pairing, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and seven USB ports. A 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system is available, and the interface is described as crisp and intuitive.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA hasn’t rated the Escalade ESV itself, but the related Escalade is cited at 17 mpg combined on the low end and 23 mpg combined on the high end. In testing, the RWD Escalade ESV was averaging around 18 mpg.

Which 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV trim should I buy?

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, but it still brings a strong luxury appearance with standard roof rails, power-extending assist steps, LED lighting, and the curved 38-inch OLED display. It makes sense if you want the Escalade ESV experience without chasing every extra feature.
• Premium Luxury: This trim adds more upscale exterior detailing and is a strong middle-ground choice if you want a more polished look and broader feature content without jumping all the way to the top end.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This is the best-value choice if you want the richest luxury presentation and the most upscale trim treatment without going fully into the sport-oriented models.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the blacked-out exterior accents and darker wheel treatment. It’s the right pick if appearance matters more to you than chrome-heavy luxury styling.
• Sport Platinum: This is the most distinctive sport-themed version, combining the darker exterior look with the highest-end trim treatment.

Safety equipment is standard across the lineup, but several advanced driver-assistance features remain optional rather than included on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 746 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $51,811, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV's resale value?

The current average of $51,811 sits slightly below last year's $59,833.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this model year is still supported by strong demand for luxury, space, and technology, but the recent decline means you should not expect a quick rebound without broader market support.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV safe?

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA and three-star ratings in rollover testing.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Escalade ESV comes standard with front automatic braking, front and rear park assist, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian detection, rear pedestrian detection, safety seat alert, lane-keep assist, and forward-collision assist. Buyers can add adaptive park assist, a head-up display, rear camera mirror, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, side blind-spot alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, night vision, advanced adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, and automatic seatbelt tightening.

A key caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, and the NHTSA rollover result is weaker than the rest of the crash performance. That matters especially because this is a tall, heavy SUV.

Should I buy a 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 stands out for its high-tech cabin, especially the curved OLED display and available Super Cruise.

The bottom line: If you want the most modern-feeling Escalade ESV experience, the 2021 is the one to target because it combines strong owner satisfaction, a major tech upgrade, and a softer market price. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully for a well-kept example, but you should be especially selective about history and condition.
