Used 2021 Buick Envision for Sale nearDurham, NC

How much does the 2021 Buick Envision cost?

Prices have softened 7.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,157 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Buick Envision a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Buick Envision earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The redesigned model brings stylish design, easy-to-use technology, and a comfortable driving experience, which helps it feel more competitive in the premium compact SUV class. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, cargo space is limited, and the stereo is lacking. If you want a compact luxury SUV that prioritizes comfort and straightforward tech over sporty driving, this year’s Envision fits that use case well.

The market looks healthy enough to shop with confidence, with 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2021 Buick Envision reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2021 Envision’s redesign brings a newer body structure and updated cabin, and the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine is described as competent enough for daily drivability. Buick also emphasizes convenience and ownership ease with standard features like remote start and connected services.

The model’s cost-effectiveness profile also points to a well-equipped package for the money, especially if you value comfort and technology over outright performance. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Envision’s premium feel is more about comfort and features than mechanical excitement, so condition and maintenance history matter more than chasing a sporty driving experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Buick Envision?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on cabin condition, electronics, and signs of heavy use, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on its comfort and tech presentation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The three trim levels—Preferred, Essence, and Avenir—each bring a different look, and the Avenir adds a Black Ice Chrome mesh grille, body-color painted lowers and wheel arches, rear lens LED taillamps with a swipe-style turn sequence, 20-inch Avenir-specific pearl nickel wheels, leather-appointed seating with diamond perforated leather inserts, and a head-up display. The base trim is the most straightforward choice, while the Avenir is the most premium.
• Powertrain: Buick replaced the older base engine with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a following distance indicator, forward-collision alert, front and rear park assist, lane change alert with blind-spot alert, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat alert, automatic emergency braking, teen-driver monitoring, and Buckle to Drive. Adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist are available on Avenir models.
• Infotainment: The standard 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen is the highlight, and the Envision also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. A 4.2-inch driver information screen is standard, with an available 8.0-inch driver information display.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model gets 24 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 26 mpg combined. All-wheel-drive versions return 22 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Buick Envision trim should I buy?

The 2021 Buick Envision is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Essence, and Avenir.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, and it gives you the redesigned Envision’s core appeal at the lowest price. It’s the trim to consider if you want the new styling, standard 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full safety suite without paying for extra luxury touches.
• Essence: This is the best-value middle ground if you want a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top trim. It builds on the Preferred with a more premium positioning and is also eligible for the Sport Touring package.
• Avenir: This is the most luxurious version, with the most distinctive exterior and interior treatment, plus the available adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist. It’s the right pick if you want the Envision to feel as premium as possible.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist are reserved for Avenir models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Buick Envision?

The market looks moderately favorable for selective buyers.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,157 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,346, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $21,346 sits slightly below last year's $23,032.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already moved through a meaningful portion of its depreciation curve, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. A lower entry cost today can make it easier to preserve value later, especially if the vehicle is well maintained and lightly used. The redesigned generation also gives the Envision a newer-feeling appeal that can help it stay relevant with shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Buick Envision safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Envision’s standard driver-assistance suite includes a following distance indicator, forward-collision alert, front and rear park assist, lane change alert with blind-spot alert, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat alert, automatic emergency braking, teen-driver monitoring, and Buckle to Drive. Adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist are available on Avenir models.

One important caveat is that neither NHTSA nor IIHS had rated the 2021 model at the time of this data, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and the vehicle’s condition when evaluating a used example.

Should I buy a 2021 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned 2021 model marks the start of a new generation, bringing a more modern look and updated cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Envision with the newer styling, updated tech, and a softer used-market price, the 2021 is the right target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can shop carefully for a clean, well-equipped example and use the current market softness to your advantage.
