Used 2021 Acura RDX for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2021 Acura RDX cost?

Prices have softened 4.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,348 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2021 Acura RDX a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Acura RDX earns a 4.69/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its fantastic value, comfort, fun driving experience, spacious interior, and stylish design. The expert review also backs up the appeal with strong handling and a rewarding driving character, which fits a compact luxury crossover that aims to balance utility and value.

The trade-offs are clear: the technology can be unintuitive, and cargo space is limited. That matters most if you want a luxury SUV that feels easy to use every day or need maximum practicality from the rear cargo area.

With its compact luxury crossover mission, the RDX makes the most sense if you want a stylish, comfortable, and engaging SUV that still feels like a value play. Good and great deals account for 37.5% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Acura RDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.69/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable over time, with praise for its comfort, value, and overall satisfaction. That kind of response usually suggests you can count on the RDX to deliver a consistent ownership experience, especially if you prioritize a well-rounded luxury SUV rather than a flashy one.

The expert review also reinforces that sense of confidence by describing the RDX as a strong all-around package with refined driving behavior and high safety ratings. Acura also includes a first scheduled maintenance visit on the house, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about living with the technology and making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Acura RDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you plan to keep the SUV long term, and pay close attention to how the technology, cabin materials, and overall condition have held up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base setup starts the RDX off with a strong look and feel, but the Technology Package adds important equipment that the base trim lacks, including blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: Every 2021 RDX uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission; SH-AWD adds a noticeable handling benefit.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking, while blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert require the Technology Package at minimum.
• Infotainment: Acura’s True Touchpad Interface does not use a touchscreen, and the system is described as distracting and unintuitive even though it mirrors the screen and supports smartphone projection.
• Fuel efficiency: Some owners are disappointed with the fuel economy, so that is worth weighing if you drive a lot.

Which 2021 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2021 Acura RDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, but you give up important safety equipment that appears on higher trims, including blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Technology Package: This is the best-value choice because it adds key safety tech that the base trim lacks without jumping all the way to the more style- or luxury-focused versions.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you want the sportiest look and feel, including unique exterior and interior treatment, but it does not add extra performance over the other trims.
• Advance Package: Pick this if you want the most upscale equipment and the added comfort and refinement that come with the top trim.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, but the blind-spot warning system and rear cross-traffic alert require at least the Technology Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Acura RDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,348 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.68% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,955, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $27,368 sits slightly below last year's $28,710.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, that means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum.

Because the RDX still has strong owner satisfaction and a solid reputation for value, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.69/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Acura RDX safe?

The 2021 Acura RDX earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with four-star frontal-impact and four-star rollover resistance ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. However, blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard on the base trim and require the Technology Package at minimum.

The main caveat is that AcuraWatch is not as comprehensive as some rivals’ systems, since it lacks pedestrian detection, traffic-sign recognition, and Traffic Jam Assist.

Should I buy a 2021 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.69/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 brings Acura’s latest styling direction and the rethought True Touchpad Interface.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $24,529, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $27,368 average.
• It offers strong value with plenty of space and safety tech.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $31,280, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $27,368 average.
• It adds fresh styling, a quieter cabin, and more equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and modern design, the 2021 is the sweet spot. If your priority is spending less, the 2020 is the better budget path; if you want newer updates and can pay more, the 2022 is the upgrade route.
