Used 2020 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearAustin, TX

How much does the 2020 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 3.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,678 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 5.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Drivers consistently praise its reliability, power, and spacious interior, and the review summary also points to a sturdy, dependable truck that feels well suited to long-term ownership. The expert notes reinforce that appeal by describing it as “utterly bulletproof” in reliability terms, even while also calling out that it is uncompetitive in several areas.

That trade-off matters if you want a truck that feels durable and familiar rather than cutting-edge. The Tundra’s roomy cabin and strong everyday usability help offset its age, but its poor fuel economy and outdated interior design are still part of the ownership equation.

Only 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The review summary highlights reliability, dependability, and a truck that feels sturdy enough for long-term ownership, while the expert assessment describes it as “utterly bulletproof” in terms of reliability.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to free scheduled maintenance for 2 years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about living with older-tech compromises and weak efficiency over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Tundra?

At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, safety equipment, and signs of prior repair quality. Because the accident-free share is not especially high, condition matters as much as mileage and trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SR, SR5, Limited, TRD Pro, Platinum, and 1794 Edition each move the Tundra up the comfort ladder, with higher trims getting a fancier and plusher feel. The base versions are simpler, while the TRD Pro adds a tougher, more technical appearance and a more premium cabin presentation.
• Powertrain: Every 2020 Tundra uses a 5.7-liter V8 with a 6-speed automatic, making 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. It is described as a refined and durable workhorse, but fuel economy is unimpressive.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, and you can also get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Every Tundra includes a free year of Safety Connect services, and the TRD Pro is the trim with the most complete off-road-oriented hardware.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get a 7-inch display, while pricier versions upgrade to an 8-inch screen. All versions include Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, USB ports, and connected services, and the TRD Pro adds dynamic navigation, dynamic voice recognition, dynamic point-of-interest search, and a 12-speaker JBL premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says the 4WD version gets 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway, and the expert review says mileage is unimpressive.

Which 2020 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, TRD Pro, Platinum, and 1794 Edition.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point if you want the simplest path into the Tundra lineup, but it is also the most basic version of the truck. It makes the most sense if you care more about the core V8 truck experience than extra comfort or tech.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday usability without pushing you too far up the price ladder. If you want a balanced mix of equipment and value, this is the one to focus on first.
• Limited: This trim is the better choice if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for it. It suits you if comfort and a richer cabin matter more than keeping the purchase as affordable as possible.
• TRD Pro: This is the off-road-focused trim, with standard 4WD, BBS forged aluminum wheels, heavy-duty Fox off-road shocks, a TRD-tuned dual exhaust, and an aluminum skid plate. It is the right pick if you want the most distinctive and rugged version of the Tundra.
• Platinum: This trim is aimed at shoppers who want a more premium truck experience. It is a good fit if you want the Tundra to feel more luxurious without moving into the most specialized trim.
• 1794 Edition: This is the most distinctive upscale trim in the lineup and is best for buyers who want a more characterful, premium-feeling truck. It makes the most sense if style and comfort are high priorities.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully but not so much discounting that every listing is a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,678 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,054, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $35,995 sits slightly below last year's $37,279.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also temper near-term resale upside. Even so, the Tundra’s reputation for durability and long-term ownership appeal should continue to support demand among shoppers who want a dependable full-size truck.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2020 Toyota Tundra gets Good ratings only in the older IIHS tests, but it earns Marginal and Poor results in small-overlap frontal testing, and its headlights are rated Marginal, too.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, and you can also get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Every Tundra includes a free year of Safety Connect services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling. The main caveat is that the crash-test results are a weak point, especially compared with newer rivals.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 keeps the Tundra’s durable, old-school truck character while adding modern infotainment and safety tech.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $33,112, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $35,995 average.
• It sticks with a straightforward, proven pickup formula and adds a revised TRD Pro suspension.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $37,741, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $35,995 average.
• It keeps the old design relevant with modern infotainment and safety updates.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of price, satisfaction, and modern convenience, the 2020 is the sensible default. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2019 is worth a look; if you want a slightly newer take and can spend more, the 2021 is the upgrade path.
