Is the 2020 Toyota Supra a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Toyota Supra earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The overview and expert evaluation both point to a sports car built around driving enjoyment, with great handling and a clear performance mission. It also comes with standard advanced safety features, which helps it feel more complete than a bare-bones coupe.

Its performance setup is described as well sorted, and the cost-effectiveness commentary emphasizes that the driving experience is compelling enough to outweigh some of the car’s quirks. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright capability and more about whether the car’s cabin and feature mix will satisfy you over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Supra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every car you consider, because accident-free status is not the same as a clean mechanical past. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a sports car where hard use can matter more than mileage alone. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim and package claims.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car comes with 19-inch wheels, Michelin high-performance tires, LED head- and taillights, remote keyless entry, 14-way sport bucket seats, push-button start, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen. The Premium adds heated leather seats, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a head-up display.
• Powertrain: The car uses a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with a twin-scroll turbo, making 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque. It uses an 8-speed automatic transmission and sends power to the rear wheels.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning with steering assist, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, and rain-sensing wipers. The available Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 6.5-inch screen, while the Premium and Launch Edition get an 8.8-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless device charging are included on the Premium and Launch Edition.
• Fuel efficiency: It returns 24 mpg city, 31 highway, and 26 combined.

Which 2020 Toyota Supra trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Supra is offered in 3 trim levels: 3.0, 3.0 Premium, Launch Edition.

Here's the short version:

• 3.0: This is the entry point, and it already gives you the core Supra experience: the turbocharged inline 6, rear-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, high-performance tires, and the standard safety and convenience equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and care most about the driving hardware.
• 3.0 Premium: This is the best-value trim if you want the Supra to feel more complete. You get heated leather seats, the larger 8.8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, a JBL audio system, and a head-up display. If you want the most balanced ownership experience, this is the one to target.
• Launch Edition: This is the limited-run version with red, black, or white paint, red mirror covers, 19-inch matte black wheels, and red leather upholstery. It is mainly for shoppers who want the special-edition look and exclusivity.

The Driver Assist Package is available on all trims, and it adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Supra or consider a different year?

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its return after a long absence and its strong performance mission.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $47,915, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $48,938 average.
• It adds a four-cylinder option that makes the Supra more affordable.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest performance-first version of this car, the 2020 is the one to focus on. If your priority is lower pricing and you are open to a less powerful setup, the 2021 is worth a look.
