How much does the 2020 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 3.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,212 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2020 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Toyota Camry earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and great fuel economy, and many also like its stylish design and smooth ride. The Camry’s 2020 update adds all-wheel drive and the TRD variant, which broadens its appeal if you want more capability or a sportier feel. The trade-offs are that some owners want more horsepower and more advanced options, and the technology can take some getting used to.

For shoppers who want a well-equipped midsize sedan with broad everyday appeal, that combination makes sense. The market also shows 30.5% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as reliable, trouble-free, and a car they can count on for the long haul. The expert review also emphasizes Toyota’s reputation for quality, reliability, and value, while noting that the Camry’s powertrains and overall setup are built around dependable everyday use. ToyotaCare adds free maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the car’s core durability and more about how well a specific example was maintained and driven.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Camry?

At 54.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a collision or shows signs of uneven wear. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and any evidence that safety systems or cameras were repaired after damage. If you’re shopping a higher-trim example, make sure the equipment you expect is actually present and functioning.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims feel well finished, but the higher trims add leather, dual-zone climate control, upgraded audio and infotainment, and more upscale materials.
• Powertrain: You can shop four-cylinder, AWD four-cylinder, or V6 versions; the four-cylinder is the better efficiency play, while the V6 adds more power.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional.
• Infotainment: Lower trims use a 7-inch screen, with an optional 8-inch upgrade. Android Auto is standard, and higher trims can add remote services and a larger display setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-drive four-cylinder is rated at 31 mpg combined in XLE and XSE trim, AWD drops that to 28 mpg, and front-drive V6 models manage 26 mpg; the TRD is rated at 25 mpg.

Which 2020 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Camry is offered in 8 trim levels: L, LE, SE, SE Nightshade, XLE, XSE, TRD, XLE V6, XSE V6.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the cheapest entry point, but it is best avoided because it gives up too much equipment for the money.
• LE: This is the value-focused choice if you want a sensible starting point with access to useful options like AWD and blind-spot monitoring.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds better interior trimmings and a more polished look without jumping too far in price.
• SE Nightshade: Choose this if you want the SE’s equipment with blacked-out styling and black 18-inch wheels.
• XLE: This is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale cabin, leather upholstery, and dual-zone climate control.
• XSE: This is the best pick if you want a sportier feel with more premium equipment and the stronger visual presence of the upper trims.
• TRD: This is the enthusiast choice, with a 301-horsepower V6, lowered suspension, beefed-up brakes, and high-performance tires.
• XLE V6: This is for buyers who want the luxury-oriented XLE formula with V6 power.
• XSE V6: This is the most expensive mainstream V6 choice and suits shoppers who want the sportiest upscale version.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional, so check the equipment list carefully if that matters to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Camry?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,212 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.25% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,620, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $19,935 sits slightly below last year's $20,606.

That softer pricing suggests the Camry is in a buyer-friendly phase right now, which can help you if you plan to sell later because you may be entering at a lower cost basis. If prices stabilize, a well-kept example bought near the current average could hold up reasonably well. The key for future resale is condition: clean history, strong maintenance records, and desirable equipment will matter more than mileage alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2020 Toyota Camry earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes a pre-collision system with emergency braking and pedestrian detection, dynamic radar adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high beams. Every Camry also gets 10 airbags, stability control, a backup camera, and a one-year trial of Safety Connect. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional, and Bird’s Eye View is available on higher trims.

One caveat is that Toyota’s safety suite is not quite as comprehensive as in some other Toyota models, so you should verify which driver-assistance features are included on the specific car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Toyota added all-wheel drive and the TRD trim, expanding the Camry’s appeal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,648, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $19,935 average.
• It offers strong safety and a free maintenance plan.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,705, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,935 average.
• It adds updated infotainment, improved driver aids, and more trim flexibility.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the right pick if you want the updated Camry formula with all-wheel drive and TRD availability at a still-reasonable used price. If you’re focused on saving money, the 2019 is the value play; if you want newer tech and driver aids, the 2021 is worth the extra cost.
