How much does the 2020 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 5.63% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,189 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.77/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. Reviewers consistently praise its impressive acceleration, spacious interior, and modern technology, and many also like the comfort, safety features, and the convenience of not having to buy gas. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want an EV with everyday usability, roomy packaging, and a premium feel. With 31.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with owners describing the vehicle positively over time and highlighting its trouble-free feel, strong long-term appeal, and the confidence that comes from electric driving. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core appeal and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for well and shows no signs of hidden wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and confirm that the car’s condition matches the listing photos and description. Put inspection priority on body condition, interior wear, and how well the vehicle’s controls and features operate in daily use. Because so much of the experience depends on the car’s overall condition, it’s worth focusing on any signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or missing equipment before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,189 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.63% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 80.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,260, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $26,263 sits slightly above last year's $24,863.

That upward move suggests the market has remained willing to pay for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. Strong demand can help support resale value, especially when buyers continue to respond to the Model Y’s mix of range, space, and standard equipment. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and maintain its appeal, you should be in a better position when it’s time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.63% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the earliest version of this model year’s formula and you find a clean example at a fair price, the 2020 is a sensible buy. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it’s worth comparing nearby years to see whether a later model year gives you a better mix of features, availability, or value for the money.
