How much does the 2020 Tesla Model S cost?

Prices are up 6.03% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 360 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model S a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Tesla Model S earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive range, advanced technology, and excellent performance, and many like the driving experience because it feels both comfortable and sporty. For you, that makes it especially appealing if you want a luxury electric sedan with a software-driven feel and strong everyday usability. With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model S reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes that the car feels dependable over time, with praise for its long-range capability, advanced technology, and trouble-free driving experience. That said, you should still expect used-EV ownership to hinge on condition, software behavior, and how well the car has been maintained. For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is less about the powertrain concept and more about finding a well-kept example with no hidden issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Tesla Model S?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a vehicle history report to confirm the car’s background and make sure the listing matches the seller’s claims. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the interior, electronics, and overall condition, since owner feedback points to some disappointment with cabin quality and feature expectations. It also makes sense to focus on how the car presents in person, because a used Model S should feel consistent with its premium positioning.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Tesla Model S?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 360 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.03% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 83.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,225, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Tesla Model S's resale value?

The current average of $33,730 sits slightly above last year's $31,812.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year’s combination of range, performance, and technology. If you own one, that can help support resale strength as long as your car is well maintained and presents cleanly to shoppers. The fact that demand remains steady also means you may have a better chance of holding value than with a less distinctive luxury EV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Tesla Model S or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.03% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Model S makes the most sense if you want a mature version of Tesla’s luxury EV formula with strong owner approval and a market that still shows healthy demand. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing for a lower entry point, but the 2020 remains a compelling choice when you want the balance of satisfaction, availability, and proven appeal.
