Is the 2020 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its ride quality, handling, fuel efficiency, and all-wheel drive, which fits well if you want a practical daily driver that feels secure and easy to live with. The overall appeal is strongest if you value comfort, control, and low-key usefulness over flash. With 35.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes that it feels dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with the kind of long-term confidence buyers often want from a compact commuter. Its all-wheel-drive setup and practical character reinforce that sense of consistency. For used buyers, that usually means lower ownership anxiety if you choose a well-kept example with clean maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Subaru Impreza?

At 66.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on body panels, alignment, tires, and suspension, since those areas can reveal whether a car was repaired well. You should also focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a clean-looking listing is not always the same as a well-cared-for one.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 740 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,972, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $16,840 sits slightly below last year's $16,892.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which is helpful if you plan to sell later because it points to predictable pricing rather than sharp swings. A steady price trend can make it easier to estimate your future trade-in or private-party value. The model's broad appeal as a practical, all-wheel-drive compact car should also help keep interest steady among used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,665, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,840 average.
• It adds SI-Drive drive modes on the Premium trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing is stable and owner satisfaction is high. If you're willing to pay more for a slightly newer model with a small feature update, the 2021 is the better secondary path for shoppers who want the latest version without a major redesign.
