The 2020 Subaru Crosstrek gets minor changes for 2020. Since it’s not a major year for the Crosstrek, the exterior design remains the same. However, two new colors join the palette: Magnetite Gray Metallic replaces Dark Gray Metallic, while Pure Red replaces Venetian Red Pearl. The Crosstrek comes standard with a 2.0-liter flat 4-cylinder boxer engine, which delivers 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. You get the choice of a standard 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). All-wheel drive (AWD) and 8.7 inches of ground clearance come standard at every level. The Base trim gets black 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, black side cladding, a 6.5-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, dual USB ports, automatic headlights, and welcome lighting. Other trims get a 6-speaker sound system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, an enhanced instrument cluster, a sunroof, leather, a 6-way power driver’s seat, keyless access and start, an 8.0-inch infotainment system, navigation, and automatic start-stop. The CVT-equipped Crosstrek comes standard with Subaru EyeSight driver-assist technology. This includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, sway warning, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and pre-collision throttle management. A reversing camera and a rear-seat reminder are also standard. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, adaptive headlights, and rear cross-traffic alert are the only safety options. The Crosstrek scores a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when equipped with the EyeSight package and adaptive headlights.
