Used 2020 RAM 2500 for Sale nearPhiladelphia, PA

How much does the 2020 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 9.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,468 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.85/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the truck’s powerful performance, comfortable ride, and impressive interior features. The review summary also points to the Cummins diesel engine and towing capability as standout strengths, while the overview frames the truck as a heavy-duty pickup that still feels refined and upscale for the segment.

The main trade-offs are its sluggish performance in some situations and fuel economy that trails competitors. That said, the truck’s luxury-first cabin and capability-focused mission make it a strong fit if you want a heavy-duty pickup that feels special rather than purely utilitarian.

With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary highlights the Cummins diesel as reliable and dependable, and it also points to the truck’s towing ability as something drivers feel they can count on. The expert driving notes reinforce that sense of durability by describing the diesel’s exhaust brake as a useful tool for hauling and for reducing brake wear over time.

The cost-effectiveness notes also mention that the truck’s pricing can climb quickly, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is less about basic toughness and more about choosing the right configuration and keeping operating costs in check.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 RAM 2500?

At 73.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, frame areas, and signs of repair quality. Because this is a heavy-duty truck, it also makes sense to focus on how the truck was used, since towing and hauling can affect wear in ways that aren’t obvious from photos alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The truck’s six trim levels range from a more work-focused base model with steel wheels to upper trims with very upscale materials, chrome accents, LED headlights, and an optional 12-inch vertical touchscreen. The higher trims stand out for their much richer cabin presentation, while the base trim is the one most likely to feel stripped down by comparison.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque or a 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six diesel with 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. The gas V8 brings the highest payloads, while the diesel is the towing specialist.
• Infotainment: A 5-inch touchscreen is standard, but the 8.4-inch Uconnect upgrade is the one most buyers will want. The 12-inch display adds huge maps, trailer settings, 360-degree camera views, and dual rear-view camera support.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA does not rate heavy-duty trucks for fuel economy, but one test averaged close to 19 mpg over 515 mostly highway miles.

Which 2020 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2020 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Laramie Longhorn, Limited, and three additional trims referenced in the cabin and equipment descriptions.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the starting point if you want the lowest entry price and a truck built for work first. It gets the basics, including steel wheels, but it is the trim most likely to leave you wanting the upgraded infotainment and richer cabin materials found higher up the range.
• Laramie Longhorn: This trim is a strong choice if you want the upscale interior experience without going all the way to the top. The cabin materials are described as excellent, and it brings the kind of craftsmanship and visual richness that make the truck feel far more premium than a typical heavy-duty pickup.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim if you want the full luxury-and-tech experience. It pairs the most impressive interior presentation with the available 12-inch vertical touchscreen and the polished, high-end feel that defines this truck.

The safety content notes that most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, and forward emergency braking.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,468 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,271, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $38,278 sits slightly below last year's $42,302.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers in the near term, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively if they want to move quickly. The current range still shows meaningful demand, especially for well-kept trucks with desirable equipment and strong capability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 safe?

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety content says the Ram 2500 will not be rated by NHTSA or IIHS. Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, and forward emergency braking, and the latter is said to work with a trailer attached.

Because the truck lacks official crash-test ratings, you should treat safety equipment as a key shopping priority and look closely at whether the specific truck you’re considering has the driver-assistance features you want.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Heavy-duty buyers get a truck that emphasizes luxury, technology, and capability in a way that feels especially refined for the segment.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck that feels upscale and capable, the 2020 RAM 2500 is the year to focus on. If your priority is maximizing value, the softer pricing and decent inventory make this a good time to shop carefully and compare condition, equipment, and history before you buy.
