Used 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT for Sale nearIrvine, CA

How much does the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT cost?

Prices have softened 11.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 279 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

It stands out as an exotic sports car with dramatic styling and a serious performance focus, and it is positioned to compete with top-tier sports cars. The trade-off is that it is often uncomfortable and not suited to unskilled drivers.

You get cool features, a car that is fun to drive, and multiple powertrain options, but the ride is intentionally raw and demanding. That makes it a better fit if you want an intense, track-capable experience and are willing to accept some discomfort in exchange.

29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The AMG GT is described as a raw, razor-sharp machine that demands respect, and the expert review also notes that newer versions are much improved over earlier, overly stiff examples. That points to a car whose character is intentionally extreme, but whose later tuning is more livable than before.

Its performance hardware is built for serious driving, with strong grip, precise steering feedback, and brakes that never fade. The cost-effectiveness notes also suggest that resale values can drop quickly after a couple of years, so long-term ownership risk is more about depreciation than mechanical fragility.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this car is expensive to repair and often driven hard. Focus on overall condition, signs of track use, and whether the car has been maintained carefully.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GT has fewer standard driver-assistance features than the higher trims, since blind-spot monitoring and lane keep assist are optional on the base GT and standard on all others.
• Powertrain: The car uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 available in several grades, with outputs ranging from 469 horsepower to 577 horsepower.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, driver attention monitor, auto high beams, and parking sensors come standard. Blind-spot monitoring and lane keep assist are optional on the base GT and standard on all others. Adaptive cruise control is optional on all.
• Infotainment: You get a 10-inch screen, onboard WiFi, live traffic, a companion smartphone app, and the Burmester sound system. The system uses COMAND Touch, and the touchpad is a no-cost option.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review says the car averaged 14 mpg, and the EPA estimate is 15 mpg city, 20 highway, 17 combined.

Which 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT trim should I buy?

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is offered in 3 trim levels: GT, GT C, GT R.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the entry point, but it still delivers the AMG GT’s core appeal: dramatic styling, serious performance, and the same basic exotic character. It makes the most sense if you want the nameplate experience without chasing the highest output.
• GT C: This is the best-value trim because it adds rear-wheel steering, which makes the car incredibly agile and easier to place on the road. It also gets the more powerful engine tune and the rear-end details that distinguish it from the base car.
• GT R: This is the most aggressive choice, with the highest output and the most extreme setup in the lineup. It suits you if you want the sharpest track-focused version and are willing to live with the same demanding character taken even further.

Blind-spot monitoring and lane keep assist are optional on the base GT and standard on all others.

What is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT's resale value?

The current average of $81,692 sits slightly below last year's $91,974.

That price drop suggests the market has already absorbed some of the model’s steep early depreciation. If you buy well, you may be entering at a more favorable point than an earlier owner did.

For a future seller, that means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been cared for. The current trend is still a reminder that this is a performance car with meaningful depreciation risk.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT safe?

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT comes with head curtain airbags, two knee airbags, front and side airbags, and fixed roll hoops.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Should I buy a 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT or consider a different year?

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out as a raw, razor-sharp exotic sports car that demands respect.

• It adds a four-door supercar layout with more everyday practicality.

The bottom line: Choose the 2020 if you want the classic AMG GT character and are focused on the current market value. Consider the 2021 if you want a lower entry price and a more practical take on the same performance-first formula.
