The Mazda CX-9 is a three-row crossover in the same category as the Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Traverse, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and the new Kia Telluride. For 2020, it gets some minor updates. Previously, all CX-9s were 7-seaters, with three seats in the second row and two in the third row. The CX-9 comes in Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and Signature trims. The Sport comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, heated front seats, cloth upholstery, heated outside mirrors, automatic headlights, a power driver’s seat, tri-zone automatic climate control, keyless start, and a 7-inch infotainment system. Other trims add Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, leather upholstery, a power liftgate, a 9-inch infotainment system, navigation, a Bose 12-speaker audio system, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, auto-folding side mirrors, and a heated steering wheel. The Mazda i-Activsense safety suite is newly standard on the CX-9. It bundles a reversing camera, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
