CarGurus Analysis: 2020 INFINITI Q50
Summary
With 435 currently listed for sale and an average price of $18,777, 25.7% of 2020 INFINITI Q50 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 INFINITI Q50 5 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2020 INFINITI Q50 stands out as a midsize premium sedan that leans on a mix of power, equipment, and value. It was part of a long-running first generation that changed relatively little over time, which gives it a familiar formula rather than a constantly reinvented one. That approach helped the Q50 carve out an identity as a luxury sedan with sporty intent, and its closest natural rival was the BMW 3 Series.
For 2020, the Q50 sat in a lineup that had already been reshaped by earlier updates. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 was part of the range by then, and the model also offered rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Infiniti had also broadened the car’s equipment over the years, and by this point the Q50 could be had with features such as a wi-fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, and a blind-spot warning system on certain trims. That makes it appealing to buyers who want a well-equipped luxury sedan without chasing the newest badge on the market.
At the same time, the Q50 was showing its age by the end of its run. The buying guide notes that it was starting to look and feel out of touch with newer rivals, and fuel economy was never a strong point. Reliability is generally described as solid, but warped brakes are a common issue, and 3.0t models have been known to suffer from turbo failures. For shoppers who value strong engines and generous standard equipment more than the latest design or the best efficiency, the 2020 INFINITI Q50 still has a clear appeal.

| Year-Round Low | $18,626 |
| Year-Round High | $20,248 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $19,638 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −4.40% |
Prices have softened 4.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 432 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2020 INFINITI Q50 a good car?
Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2020 INFINITI Q50, and it fits a midsize premium sedan that leans on power, equipment, and value. The Q50’s familiar formula and long-running first-generation design make it appealing if you want a luxury sedan with sporty intent rather than a constantly reinvented cabin. It also offers rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and it can be had with features like a wi-fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot warning on certain trims. 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2020 INFINITI Q50 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The overview describes reliability as generally solid, which is encouraging for used buyers. Even so, the model’s age and the mention of common brake issues and possible turbo failures on 3.0t models mean you should pay close attention to maintenance history and mechanical condition. For a used purchase, that makes a thorough pre-purchase inspection especially important if you want to reduce long-term ownership risk.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 INFINITI Q50?
At 53.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should run a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on bodywork, alignment, braking performance, and signs of turbo-related or engine-related issues. Because the Q50 is a long-running design, condition matters more than mileage alone, so focus on how well the car has been maintained and whether wear matches the seller’s story.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 INFINITI Q50?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 432 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.40% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 53.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $18,626, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 INFINITI Q50's resale value?
The current average of $18,773 sits slightly below last year's $19,638.
That softer pricing suggests the Q50 has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help a future seller if you buy at the right price. If the market stays steady, a lower entry cost gives you more room to preserve value over your ownership period. Strong equipment and a performance-oriented reputation can help keep interest alive among shoppers who want a luxury sedan with more personality.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2020 INFINITI Q50 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 53.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.40% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $20,820, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $18,773 average.
- It adds more driver-assist tech.
The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and history. If you want newer tech and can stretch your budget, the 2021 is the cleaner upgrade path; if price matters most, the 2020 remains the smarter buy.
