How much does the 2020 Honda HR-V cost?

There are 1,119 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2020 Honda HR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Honda HR-V earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, quality, and spaciousness, and many also like its excellent fuel economy and available AWD. For you, that makes it a practical choice if you want a small SUV with everyday usefulness, especially if cargo flexibility matters more than driving excitement. With 34.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a decent amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Honda HR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also highlights reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers saying they feel confident counting on it over time. That said, used-car reliability still depends on how each individual vehicle was maintained, so a careful inspection matters. For you, the main long-term ownership risk is buying a neglected example rather than a fundamentally weak model.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda HR-V?

At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any damage was cosmetic or structural. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, tires, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal past repairs or neglect. You should also focus on cabin condition and feature operation, because owner feedback points to comfort and convenience as important parts of the ownership experience.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda HR-V?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting extreme bargains.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,119 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,946, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $18,555 sits slightly below last year's $18,901.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also suggests resale values may not be climbing quickly in the near term. If you plan to sell later, condition and mileage will matter a lot, especially because buyers in this segment tend to compare value closely. A well-kept HR-V should still appeal to practical shoppers who want space, efficiency, and a reputation for satisfaction.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,975, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $18,555 average.
• It keeps the same practical formula but adds a more up-to-date feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing is softer and inventory is healthy. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative for buyers who prefer a slightly fresher option.
