What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Fit?

At 55% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. A pre-purchase inspection is also worth prioritizing, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings at similar prices. Focus on overall condition, seat wear, and how well the cabin and backup camera function, since those are the kinds of details that can affect your day-to-day satisfaction.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Fit?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when you find a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 280 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.94% year-over-year.

What is the 2020 Honda Fit's resale value?

The current average of $17,856 sits slightly above last year's $17,016.

That upward movement suggests the Fit has held buyer interest well, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A model that stays in demand while inventory remains limited can be easier to move at a competitive price. If you buy a clean example and keep it in good condition, you’re more likely to preserve value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Fit or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.94% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Fit is the better pick if you want the latest version of this generation’s practical packaging and you’re willing to shop carefully for a clean, fairly priced example. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby older year may be worth considering, especially if you can find a lower-mileage car with a strong history and similar equipment.
