Used 2020 Genesis G70 for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2020 Genesis G70 cost?

Prices have softened 12.53% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 277 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Genesis G70 a good car?

Yes — the 4.62/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 8.33/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the G70 for its excellent value for money, strong performance, and luxurious interior. They also highlight the acceleration and handling, which make it fun to drive. In use-case terms, this is the kind of compact luxury sport sedan that fits you well if you want something distinctive, premium-feeling, and enjoyable on the road.

The main trade-off is outdated technology, and some reviewers also mention limited backseat leg room and trunk space. Even so, the market still shows 33.2% good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Genesis G70 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable over time, with praise centered on strong performance, luxurious feel, and the kind of ownership experience people are happy to stick with. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the G70 is built to reward its driver for years to come, and the included maintenance plus long warranty coverage add to that confidence.

You also get three years of included maintenance with pickup/dropoff service and loaners, which helps reduce early ownership hassle. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about whether the car’s age-related tech and packaging compromises still fit your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Genesis G70?

At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced example. Focus on condition, prior damage, and whether the car’s premium features still work as intended, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on its overall feel and equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car loses the soft leather and quilting found on higher trims, while Prestige and Sport models add quilted Nappa leather, richer cabin materials, and a more upscale feel. If you want the best-value trim, the content points you toward the higher-spec versions that deliver the strongest luxury payoff.
• Powertrain: The base 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder makes 252 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, while the optional 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 delivers 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. The V6 is the clear performance choice, while the four-cylinder is the more practical setup.
• Safety package: The car includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping function, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, auto high beams, and a driver attention monitor as standard equipment. Navigation is optional and adds fast voice recognition, live traffic data, and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, and the infotainment screen is 8 inches. The system is dated in appearance, and the content does not indicate wireless smartphone integration or over-the-air updates.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0T AWD is rated at 20/27/23, and the 2.0T RWD with the automatic gets 22/30/25. The V6 setup is described as fuel-thirsty, with less than 21 mpg averaged in testing.

Which 2020 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2020 Genesis G70 is offered in 4 trim levels: Advanced, Elite, Prestige, Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Advanced: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the G70’s core style and driving character at the lowest price. It gives you the basic luxury-sedan formula, but you give up some of the richer cabin and convenience upgrades found higher up.
• Elite: This trim adds meaningful everyday comfort and convenience, including the 15-speaker Lexicon stereo, parking sensors, heated front seats, and a power steering column. It’s the best-value trim if you want a noticeable upgrade without jumping all the way to the top.
• Prestige: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale feel, since it adds a heated steering wheel and rain-sensing wipers. It also brings the quilted Nappa leather and richer cabin presentation that help the G70 feel more premium.
• Sport: This is the enthusiast-leaning choice, with the most aggressive look and feel, plus a power closing trunk lid for 2020. It’s the trim to choose if you want the strongest performance-oriented presentation and don’t mind paying more for it.

The safety content indicates that driver-assistance and safety features are broadly standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Genesis G70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 277 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.53% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,275, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $20,275 sits slightly below last year's $23,180.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a better entry price today. For a future seller, the key question is whether the car’s premium feel and strong performance keep demand steady enough to offset age-related depreciation.

Because the G70 has a strong value story and a distinctive personality, it may continue to attract shoppers who want something different from the usual luxury-sedan choices. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2020 Genesis G70 is a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety package is broad and standard, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping function, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, auto high beams, and a driver attention monitor. The system can work as a semi-automated setup on marked highways, and a driver's knee airbag is also included.

Should I buy a 2020 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs standout style with strong value and a top expert cost-effectiveness score.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $19,637, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $20,275 average.
• It’s the first ground-up Genesis G70 and established the model’s strong sport-sedan formula.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,581, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,275 average.
• It adds minor updates and a refreshed trim-and-features mix.

The bottom line: If you want the best blend of price, style, and performance, the 2020 is the sweet spot to target. If you’re focused mainly on saving money, the 2019 is the better value play, while the 2021 makes sense only if you specifically want the newer-year pricing and updates.
