Summary
With 9,577 currently listed for sale and an average price of $29,084.00, 31.9% of 2020 Ford F-150s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Ford F-150 4.72 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.33 / 10.
80.7% of 2020 F-150 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2020 Ford F-150 stands out as a full-size pickup that tries to balance everyday comfort with real work capability. It offers an accommodating and modern interior, comfortable road manners, and a lineup of engines that provide the power and torque needed to hold its own at the worksite. That combination makes it appealing to buyers who want a truck that can serve as a commuter, family hauler, and tow vehicle without feeling out of place in any of those roles.
It also brings some clear strengths beyond utility. The F-150 boasts outstanding tech and comfort features, and its stylish design helps it feel more polished than a purely work-focused truck. At the same time, it is not perfect: advanced safety features are not standard, and the interior materials feel cheap. Even so, the 2020 Ford F-150 remains distinctive because it delivers broad capability with a cabin and ride quality aimed at making daily use easier.

The 2020 Raptor gets almost everything right — performance, comfort, design, and capability. It’s not just a truck; it’s an experience. Every time I drive it, it reminds me why this model has such a loyal following. ⸻ What I Think of Its Features The twin-turbo 3.5 L EcoBoost engine delivers incredible power and torque, and the 10-speed transmission keeps it smooth whether you’re cruising the highway or tearing up dirt roads. The suspension is what truly sets it apart — it absorbs rough terrain like it’s nothing, but somehow still rides comfortably on pavement. Inside, it’s spacious, refined, and well-equipped. The technology and controls are intuitive, and even though it’s built for off-road performance, it doesn’t sacrifice daily comfort. It feels just as confident on a long trip as it does on a back trail. ⸻ Is It a Good Value? Yes — for the right driver. You’re paying for both capability and character. If you’ll actually use what it was built for — adventure, off-road travel, or simply having the most capable full-size truck on the road — then it’s worth every dollar. Of course, if you’re buying it just for city commuting, the value depends on how much you want the performance and presence. Fuel economy and tire wear are part of the trade-off, but the Raptor delivers something few trucks can: it makes driving fun again. ⸻ What It’s Missing No vehicle is perfect. The Raptor’s towing capacity isn’t as high as some other F-150 models, and it’s definitely a large truck to maneuver in tight parking lots. It also drinks more fuel than your average pickup, and parts like the suspension or tires cost more to replace. But for me, those drawbacks are minor compared to what it offers in power, confidence, and enjoyment. ⸻ What I’d Compare It To If you want to compare, the Ram 1500 TRX is the closest rival — louder, heavier, and a bit wilder. The Raptor, though, strikes a better balance between power and everyday drivability. I’d also compare it to the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss or GMC AT4 for someone who wants off-road ability without going full performance truck. ⸻ Overall The 2020 Raptor is one of those rare trucks that feels alive. It’s strong, capable, and surprisingly refined. Whether you’re driving across the country or exploring back roads, it’s a truck that makes you want to keep going. That’s why I gave it a perfect 5-star rating.

The picture is deceiving. It’s actually missing driver side running board. And the inside was very dirty. Back head rest was also missing.

| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $29,024 |
| Year-Round Low | $28,517.11 |
| Year-Round High | $30,784.75 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $30,767 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −5.67% |
Prices have softened 5.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 9,591 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.
If you find a listing below $28,517.11, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2020 Ford F-150 a good car?
Yes — the 2020 Ford F-150 earns a 4.72/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.
Owners consistently praise its power, smooth ride, and spacious interior. The engine lineup also gets repeated approval, especially the 3.5L EcoBoost and 5.0L V8 options.
The main trade-offs are that some shoppers want more USB ports and power seats, and the cabin materials can feel less upscale than some rivals. That makes it especially appealing if you want a capable, comfortable truck for work and family use rather than a luxury-first pickup.
Good and great deals account for 31.6% of listings, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive price.
Is the 2020 Ford F-150 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.72/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owners describe it as dependable and praise its trouble-free feel, especially for a truck that has to handle daily driving, towing, and family duty. The expert evaluation also emphasizes a durable, accommodating cabin and road manners that support long-term use.
Ford also highlights the truck’s practical ownership side with features like FordPass remote functions and a lineup built around broad use cases. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and wear from towing or heavy work.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford F-150?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 79% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a pre-purchase inspection. Focus on signs of hard use, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Interior condition matters too, since some trims prioritize durability over upscale materials.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base XL is a true work truck with steel wheels, manual locks, air conditioning, a 2.3-inch driver information display, and standard forward automatic emergency braking. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, but the lower trims are sparse.
- Powertrain: Engine choices range from a 3.3-liter V6 to turbocharged EcoBoost V6s, a 5.0-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. The V8 and turbocharged engines are better suited to towing and hauling, while the turbodiesel is the most efficient.
- Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 includes automatic high beams, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. Some features are not standard on every trim.
- Infotainment: The XLT’s 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, enhanced voice recognition, pinch-to-zoom map functionality, and smart-charging USB ports. FordPass with remote functions is also available on higher trims.
- Fuel efficiency: The turbodiesel with rear-wheel drive returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, 24 combined. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 20 mpg city, 26 highway, 22 combined. The V8 returns 17 mpg city, 23 highway, 19 combined. The Raptor returns 15 mpg city, 18 highway, 16 combined.
Which 2020 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?
The 2020 Ford F-150 is offered in 7 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The XL is the bare-bones choice, with steel wheels, manual locks, a basic radio, and a small driver information display. It does include standard forward automatic emergency braking, but it skips much of the comfort and tech you get higher up.
- Sweet-spot trim: The XLT is the best value for most shoppers because it adds SYNC 3, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a WiFi hotspot, and more exterior polish without jumping into luxury pricing.
- Premium/top trim: The Limited is the most upscale choice, with premium leather upholstery, a dual-panel moonroof, 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, and a more refined cabin presentation.
- Off-road trim: The Raptor is the specialized off-road pick, but its rugged setup and lower fuel economy make it less ideal for typical daily driving.
Ford Co-Pilot360 is the key safety-package note to watch for, since several driver-assistance features are bundled there rather than standard across the lineup.

What is the 2020 Ford F-150's resale value?
The current average of $29,024 sits slightly below last year's $30,767.
That price movement suggests the truck has softened enough to give you better entry pricing today, while still holding meaningful market demand. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation compared with a model that is still climbing in price.
Strong demand for capable, well-equipped pickups can help support future resale, especially when the truck has broad appeal across work and family use. Condition, trim, and maintenance history will matter a lot when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

You also get standard airbags, curve control, tire-pressure monitoring, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, rain-sensing headlights, an anti-theft system, and the SOS post-crash alert system. A reverse sensing system is available on the base XL, and Pro Trailer Backup Assist is available for easier towing.
Should I buy a 2020 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

- 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 79% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.67% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2020 delivers a broad engine lineup, strong towing capability, and a comfortable, modern cabin.
Consider the 2019 if:
- At $26,622, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $29,024 average.
- It offers strong performance and versatility with a spacious, well-equipped cabin.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $33,465, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $29,024 average.
- It brings a major redesign with a revamped cabin and Sync 4 infotainment.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, capability, and available inventory, the 2020 is the smart middle ground. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 can save you money, while the 2021 makes sense if you want the newer redesign and are willing to pay more.
