Used 2020 Ford Expedition for Sale nearSaint Petersburg, FL

How much does the 2020 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 14.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,429 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford Expedition earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spacious cabin, roomy seating, and powerful engine, and many also like the luxurious feel and advanced features. The main trade-offs are its pricey nature and the fact that some drivers wanted better gas mileage.

That lines up with the overview: you’re looking at a full-size family SUV built for people who need space, cargo room, and towing ability more than a compact footprint or budget pricing. With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centered on spaciousness and comfort, with many drivers saying they’d count on it for family use. The expert review also emphasizes that the Expedition’s underlying engineering is robust, which supports the idea that it can hold up well over time.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term risk is paying a premium for a large SUV that may have been worked hard or maintained inconsistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Expedition?

At 74.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-mileage examples or trucks with towing use. Focus on body condition, interior wear, and signs that the SUV’s size and capability may have translated into harder-than-average use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower-level Expedition XLT uses a lot of hard plastic inside, while the King Ranch and Platinum trims bring a more upscale cabin. If you want the best value, the mid-to-upper trims are worth a close look because they address the base-trim material shortcomings.
• Powertrain: Every 2020 Expedition uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive available, and the SUV can tow up to 9,300 pounds in standard form.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen with Sync 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, FordPass Connect with a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, navigation, an available premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, a rear-seat entertainment system with dual screens, and Pro Trailer Backup Assist.
• Fuel efficiency: The review cites 19 mpg for the rear-wheel-drive King Ranch in official EPA testing, and the author averaged 17.7 mpg in that same setup.

Which 2020 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Expedition is offered in 3 trim levels: XLT, King Ranch, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLT: This is the entry point, but the review makes clear that the cabin uses a lot of hard plastic at this level. You should choose it only if price matters most and you’re comfortable giving up some of the nicer interior touches.
• King Ranch: This is the best-value trim if you want the Expedition’s capability with a more distinctive and upscale feel. It adds special Del Rio leather, unique King Ranch branding, 22-inch wheels, a mesh grille insert, LED headlights, and adaptive damping suspension.
• Platinum: This is the other conventionally luxurious choice, aimed at buyers who want the most upscale version of the Expedition lineup.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up a trim just to get Ford Co-Pilot360.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Expedition?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,429 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,588, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $25,588 sits slightly below last year's $30,018.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing pressure has been real, so condition and trim quality will matter a lot when it’s time to list.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Expedition safe?

The 2020 Ford Expedition earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA test plus a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance. The review says the system works smoothly and accurately, though the lane-departure vibration can sometimes be hard to distinguish from road vibration.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It delivers three rows of comfortable seating, strong towing ability, and a powerful twin-turbo V6.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,041, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,588 average.
• It adds a more competitive alternative for buyers who want a newer model year with updated appeal.

The bottom line: the 2020 is the better value if you want Expedition capability at a lower used price, while the 2021 makes sense if you’re willing to pay more for the newer model year.
