How much does the 2020 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 8.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,579 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford Edge earns a 4.63/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

You’re looking at an SUV that owners consistently praise for comfort, spaciousness, and modern features. Reviewers also call out the solid build quality and roomy interior, which makes it especially appealing if you want something easy to live with for family use or taller passengers.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling is uninspired, and the base engine is underwhelming. Even so, the Edge’s practical layout and straightforward tech make it a sensible pick if you value everyday usability over flash.

The market backs that up, with 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.63/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly points to the Edge as comfortable, dependable, and solidly built, with many drivers highlighting its roomy cabin and modern features. That combination suggests you’re getting a vehicle that many owners feel confident living with over time.

The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Edge’s practical, easy-to-use nature and its well-equipped cabin, which supports the impression of a vehicle built for everyday dependability. Ford’s standard safety and tech content further reinforces that sense of long-term usability.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is the reported history of transmission and tech-related issues, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Edge?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, even when the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the transmission, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear or neglected maintenance. It also helps to compare trim equipment closely so you know whether the features you want are standard or optional.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE comes with a 10-way power driver’s seat, satellite radio, a WiFi hotspot, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360. The SEL adds LED fog lights, heated side mirrors, 18-inch wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a six-way power passenger seat, a premium audio system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Titanium adds 19-inch wheels, genuine leather upholstery, a 10-way power passenger seat, memory settings, a wall-style power outlet, remote start, wireless charging, and a premium sound system. The ST adds a bigger engine, standard AWD, and sportier styling.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive or available AWD. The ST uses a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, standard AWD, and stronger performance.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on the SEL and adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go traffic capability plus active lane centering.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen with SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and Amazon Alexa. Navigation is optional on the SEL and ST and standard on the Titanium, and the system supports pinch-to-zoom map control.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter FWD version returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, and 24 combined. The AWD version returns 21 mpg city, 28 highway, and 23 combined. The ST returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 21 combined.

Which 2020 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the Edge’s core strengths without paying for extras. You still get SYNC 3, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Ford Co-Pilot360, so it covers the essentials well.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds meaningful comfort and convenience upgrades, including heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, a premium audio system, and more upscale cabin touches.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want the most polished non-performance Edge. It brings leather upholstery, wireless charging, remote start, a premium sound system, and standard navigation.
• ST: Pick this if you want the strongest performance and standard AWD. It’s the only trim with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and is the right choice if driving character matters most.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard across the lineup, while Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on the SEL.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Edge?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,579 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,722, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $16,772 sits slightly below last year's $18,325.

That price movement suggests the Edge has softened enough to be more attractive to buyers today, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower baseline than last year’s market, which can help limit near-term depreciation pressure.

The Edge’s broad appeal as a comfortable, well-equipped SUV should help support demand, especially among shoppers who value practicality over flash. Still, resale will likely depend on trim, condition, and whether the vehicle has a clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.63/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge safe?

The 2020 Ford Edge received a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. That gives you a strong standard safety package right from the base model.

One caveat is that IIHS headlight performance varies by trim, with some versions rated lower than others. If safety is a top priority, it’s worth checking the exact trim and headlight setup on the vehicle you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.63/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard Co-Pilot360 safety tech with easy-to-use SYNC 3 and a well-equipped cabin.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $15,217, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $16,772 average.
• It offers family-friendly space and an ST trim for added performance.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,946, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,772 average.
• It adds only modest tech updates while keeping the same roomy, familiar formula.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the sweet spot if you want a well-equipped Edge at a softer price than newer models. If you’re focused on saving money, the 2019 is the better value path; if you want a newer-year example and don’t mind paying more, the 2021 is the alternative to compare.
