How much does the 2020 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 8.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,638 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable number of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford Edge earns a 4.63/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable cabin, spacious interior, and modern features, and many also call out the solid build quality and roomy layout that works well for tall drivers and families. The Edge’s straightforward, easygoing character also fits shoppers who want a familiar two-row SUV rather than something flashy.

The trade-offs are its uninspired styling and underwhelming base engine, and the expert review also notes that the Edge is getting long in the tooth. Even so, it still makes sense if you value comfort, useful features, and a practical everyday setup.

With 33.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some room for value-minded shoppers.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.63/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with repeated praise for solid build quality, comfort, and the kind of roomy, practical cabin that tends to hold up well over time. The expert review also describes the Edge as a versatile, well-equipped SUV that plays the “jack-of-all-trades” role well, which supports the case for everyday dependability.

Ford’s standard technology and safety equipment help the Edge feel well covered for routine use, and the available driver-assistance upgrades add more confidence on longer drives. The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that some owners report technical issues, especially with the transmission and certain tech features.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Edge?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the transmission, electronics, and overall cabin condition, since owner feedback points to some technical concerns. Focus on how well the vehicle’s features work in daily use, especially the infotainment and driver-assistance systems.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE comes with a 10-way power driver’s seat, satellite radio, a WiFi hotspot, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360. The SEL adds LED fog lights, heated side mirrors, 18-inch aluminum wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a six-way power front passenger seat, a nine-speaker audio system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Titanium adds 19-inch wheels, genuine leather upholstery, a 10-way power front passenger seat, driver’s seat memory, a wall-style power outlet, remote start, wireless charging, and a 12-speaker B&O sound system. The ST adds a more powerful engine, standard AWD, and sportier styling. CarGurus recommends the SEL as the best-value trim.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive or available AWD. The ST uses a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, also paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. SEL buyers can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go traffic capability and active lane centering.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and easy-to-use menu shortcuts. Voice-activated navigation with pinch-to-zoom is optional on the SEL and ST and standard on the Titanium, and a semi-digital instrument panel is available on the SEL and ST and standard on the Titanium.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter FWD model returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, 24 combined. The 2.0-liter AWD model returns 21 mpg city, 28 highway, 23 combined. The ST returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 21 combined.

Which 2020 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you a strong equipment list with SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Edge, but the rest of the lineup adds meaningful comfort and convenience.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim because it adds heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, LED fog lights, a better audio system, and more upscale cabin touches without jumping too far in price. It’s the trim most buyers should start with.
• Titanium: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with genuine leather, memory seating, wireless charging, remote start, and the upgraded B&O audio system. Choose it if you want the most comfort and convenience features short of the ST.
• ST: This is the performance model, with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, standard AWD, and sportier styling. It’s the right pick if you want the most power and the most engaging driving experience.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard across the lineup, while Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on the SEL and standard on higher trims through the available equipment mix.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,638 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,722, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $16,725 sits slightly below last year's $18,268.

That softer pricing suggests the Edge has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell.

The model’s broad appeal as a roomy, well-equipped two-row SUV should help keep demand steady. Strong owner satisfaction ratings also support resale confidence over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.63/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge safe?

The 2020 Ford Edge received a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. SEL buyers can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go traffic capability and active lane centering.

The main caveat is that IIHS headlight ratings vary by trim level, ranging from average to poor.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.63/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard Co-Pilot360 safety tech with easy-to-use SYNC 3 and available performance-oriented ST power.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $15,070, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $16,725 average.
• It offers roomy backseat and cargo space for everyday family use.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,902, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,725 average.
• It adds only modest tech updates while keeping the familiar roomy, comfortable formula.

The bottom line: Buy the 2020 if you want the best balance of price, standard safety tech, and easy ownership appeal. If you’re focused mainly on saving money, the 2019 is the better value play; if you want a newer model and don’t mind paying more, the 2021 is the cleaner step up.
