How much does the 2020 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 8.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,652 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — 4.6/5 is a strong owner rating for this model year. The expert rating is 8/10, and the model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the Edge for its comfort, spaciousness, modern features, and solid build quality. The roomy interior also comes through as a recurring strength, especially if you want something that works well for tall passengers and families.

The trade-offs are familiar: the styling is uninspired, and the base engine is underwhelming. Even so, the Edge fits well if you want a straightforward midsize two-row SUV with useful features rather than a flashy design statement.

Good and great deals account for 31.1% of listings, which points to a market with some room to negotiate.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with comfort, spaciousness, and solid build quality coming through as repeat strengths. The review summary also suggests the Edge is a vehicle many owners feel confident keeping for the long term.

The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by describing the Edge as a solid, easygoing SUV with useful technology and a well-rounded driving character. Ford also includes five years of prepaid SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link with the available navigation system, which adds a small ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some owners report technical issues, so a careful test drive and history check matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Edge?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not universal. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more tech features. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the electronics and driver-assistance systems work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE comes with a 10-way power driver’s seat, satellite radio, WiFi hotspot, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360. The SEL adds LED fog lights, heated side mirrors, 18-inch wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a six-way power passenger seat, a nine-speaker audio system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Titanium adds 19-inch wheels, genuine leather upholstery, a 10-way power passenger seat, memory settings, a wall-style power outlet, remote start, wireless charging, and a 12-speaker B&O sound system. The ST adds the performance-oriented character and standard AWD.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, with front-wheel drive or available AWD through an eight-speed automatic. The ST uses a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, standard AWD, and stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The SEL can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go traffic capability and active lane centering.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets an 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation is optional on the SEL and ST and standard on the Titanium, and the system includes SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link with five years prepaid. A semi-digital instrument panel is available on the SEL and ST and standard on the Titanium.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter FWD version returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, 24 combined. The 2.0-liter AWD version returns 21 mpg city, 28 highway, 23 combined. The ST returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 21 combined.

Which 2020 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the Edge’s core strengths without paying for extras. You still get SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a WiFi hotspot, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360, so it covers the essentials well.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, upgraded audio, and more comfort features without jumping to luxury pricing.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want the most upscale non-ST Edge, with genuine leather, wireless charging, memory seats, and the premium B&O audio system.
• ST: Pick this if you want the strongest performance and standard AWD. It’s the enthusiast choice, with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and sportier tuning.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard across the lineup, while Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on the SEL and standard on higher trims through the package structure described in the safety content.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,652 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,513, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $16,513 sits slightly below last year's $18,139.

That softer pricing means a future seller may face more competition than owners did a year ago. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower cost basis than last year’s market, which can help cushion depreciation. The Edge’s broad appeal and practical feature set should still support demand, especially for well-kept examples with strong equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge safe?

The 2020 Ford Edge received a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. If you move up to the SEL, you can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and active lane centering.

The main caveat is headlight performance, since the IIHS result notes average and poor ratings depending on trim level. That makes trim choice worth paying attention to if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs standard Co-Pilot360 safety tech with easy-to-use SYNC 3 and a practical two-row layout.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $14,972, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $16,513 average.
• It offers family-friendly space with an available ST for added performance.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,688, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,513 average.
• It adds a few new tech features while keeping the roomy, familiar formula.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, safety tech, and inventory, the 2020 is the strongest default choice. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 can save you money while keeping the same basic appeal.
