How much does the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro cost?

Prices have softened 2.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,047 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the thrilling performance, strong handling, and powerful engine. The review summary also points to a fun driving experience, which lines up with the Camaro’s enthusiast-focused character.

The trade-offs are clear: poor ergonomic design and cramped rear seating make it less friendly for everyday practicality. The overview frames it as a driving enthusiast’s choice and a budget-friendly path into the lineup, so it fits you best if performance matters more than cabin comfort.

Only 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market has some value opportunities but still rewards selective shopping.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a car that feels thrilling and satisfying to live with, and it also points to a driving experience you can count on if performance is your priority. The expert review reinforces that dependable, old-school character by describing it as a car that presumes you know how to drive before you get behind the wheel.

The Camaro’s sleeper appeal and lower-cost performance positioning also suggest it can be a rewarding long-term ownership choice if you value the formula. For used buyers, the main risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether the car’s compromises fit your daily needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven hard. Pay close attention to cabin condition, because the Camaro’s interior quality and ergonomics are recurring weak points in the review data.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT1’s sleeper look hides V8 hardware, Brembo front brakes, and a performance-tuned suspension, while the broader lineup includes 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, SS, and ZL1 variants. The base-car feel and missing premium touches make the LT1 appealing if you want strong performance without the flashier appearance.
• Powertrain: The LT1 uses a 6.2-liter V8 with 455 hp and 455 pound-feet of torque, and it can be paired with a 10-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual. The performance content also notes about 4 seconds to 60 mph and about 12.5 seconds in the quarter-mile.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver. Available features include OnStar connected services, automatic collision notification, SOS emergency calling, rear camera mirror, rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning, while blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and high-beam headlights are not offered.
• Infotainment: The standard setup includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, OnStar connected services, a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, and a 6-speaker Bose sound system. An 8-inch display, additional speakers, connected navigation, and remote engine start with the automatic transmission are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA ratings are 16 mpg city, 27 highway, and 20 combined.

Which 2020 Chevrolet Camaro trim should I buy?

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is offered in 6 trim levels: LT1, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, SS, ZL1.

Here's the short version:

• LT1: This is the best-value choice if you want the sleeper formula, because it brings the 455-hp V8, performance-tuned suspension, Brembo front brakes, and a lower price than the SS. It suits you best if you care more about straight-line speed and back-road fun than upscale cabin materials.
• 1LT: This trim is the entry point for the broader Camaro lineup and is the one the LT1 is based on. It makes sense if you want the Camaro shape and core driving character without stepping into the higher-priced performance trims.
• 2LT: This is the better pick if you want more equipment and a more complete daily-driver feel than the 1LT. It fits you if comfort and convenience matter more than chasing the strongest performance hardware.
• 3LT: This is the most feature-rich version among the non-SS trims and is the right call if you want the Camaro experience with more available equipment. It suits buyers who want a more premium-feeling Camaro without jumping to the V8-focused models.
• SS: Choose this if you want the more obvious performance step and the hardware that includes Magnetic Ride Control. It is the better fit if you want the Camaro to feel more stable and secure on rougher pavement.
• ZL1: This is the top performance choice for buyers who want the most extreme Camaro character. It is the trim for you if outright performance matters more than price or everyday comfort.

Safety equipment is limited on the LT1, and advanced driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,047 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,780, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro's resale value?

The current average of $25,486 sits slightly below last year's $26,149.

That decline suggests the Camaro has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car presents against similar listings.

Because the market has already moved down, a clean, well-kept example should stand out more than a rough one. If you buy carefully now, you may be better positioned to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro safe?

The Camaro coupe gets an overall five-star rating from NHTSA, though frontal-impact ratings for the driver and passenger are four stars instead of five. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it top marks in frontal- and side-impact testing, but roof crush strength is rated Acceptable rather than Good.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver. Available features include OnStar connected services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling, rear camera mirror, rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning.

The main caveat is that advanced driver-assistance features are limited, and blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not offered. That makes visibility and careful driving especially important in a used Camaro.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The LT1 sleeper setup gives you V8 performance at a lower price than the SS.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $33,496, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,486 average.
• It keeps the Camaro’s performance-focused personality while adding a more updated model-year context.

The bottom line: If you want the best value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a compelling performance story. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
