What is the 2020 BMW X7's resale value?

The current average of $30,865 sits slightly below last year's $35,510.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future buyers but may limit how much value you recover if you sell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong demand for a large luxury SUV can still help support resale, especially if the vehicle is well maintained and lightly worn.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW X7 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 41.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $28,364, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $30,865 average.
• It introduced BMW’s dedicated full-size three-row SUV.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,620, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $30,865 average.
• It adds a mild-hybrid setup and sharper efficiency.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2020 if you want the best balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 is the value play, while the 2021 makes sense if you want the newer setup and can pay more.
